You grossly misrepresented the purpose of a home battery or how it could be applicable in emergency situations, let alone the advantage in normal circumstances.

If you want to propose a better solution, fine.

Today, battery technology is being used on a FAR larger scale than simple home use. Musk saved HUGE dollars for people living in southwest Australia by installing a battery solution that reduced the need for the public utility to buy electricity at spot prices. In CA, a GE electrical generation site went bankrupt and the location is now going to be used as a battery installation to do the same kind of work for a region of CA.

Batteries are very real solution used to solve specific problems today. And, your misapplication and derision just point to your lack of understanding of modern battery technology and most likely the issues faced by public utilities..

There is NO JUSTIFICATION for the outrageous price increases for electricity. They came from Texas failing to fix the known problems with their system, from failing to have regulatory protections for citizens, for failing to be connected to the national grid.

These were all GROSS errors on the part of Texas that citizens in other states don't face, because they have rational government that cares about citizens.

Then you admit that Texas could be a net electricity provider to the benefit of the state!!!

So, you spend a giant post on trying to defend the Texas failure.

I'm saying that the important issue is how Texas needs to advance to the modern era so that citizens aren't billed $1,000 a day for elecricty or are denied service due to total failure.

Citizens of no other state face that.

Thank you for CONFIRMING that you have zero knowledge of the REPEATED FAILURES of your libertarian dogma when it is IMPOSED on We the People.

The Founding Fathers TRIED that Libertarian concept with the Articles of Confederation.

It was such a COMPLETE and UTTER FAILURE that they scraped it ENTIRELY and came up with our CURRENT strong Federal government.

So you are 100% WRONG about the Founding Fathers.

That and the fact that libertarianist dogma falls apart as soon as it is exposed to harsh reality.

    Wrong!

One of the Nuclear reactors in TX was FORCED to shut down because it was incapable of operating in the cold weather while the windmills maintained 75% of their production throughout,

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...n-texas-cold-snap-when-energy-was-needed-most

Nuclear reactors RELY upon water for COOLING.

When that water FREEZES the reactor MUST shut down.

Your Q-GOP is 100% responsible for the FAILURE to winterize the water supply to the reactor.

    So let’s get this straight.
I’d we have a question about covid for example, we go line to the web site at John’s Hopkins, or the CDC for example. If we had a question about AGW, we go to NASA or the AAAS.
Tell us where you go. Oh, you just sit and give it thought for a decade ? Seriously, tell us where you go.

People are here either because they think Limbaugh was FOS, or they are here because they listen to right wing talk radio and watch Fix News.

I knew that but I've never heard of conditions getting so bad it had to shut down. But if you read the article it's only one out of 4 reactors in Texas so it's also at 75%. Does anyone know what percentage of Texas' power windmills provide?

Nuclear power shutting down during a CRITICAL period of demand is BAD NEWS for the nuclear industry. They are EXPENSIVE, require massive TAXPAYER subsidies and produce TOXIC WASTE that will still be around for at least 100,000 YEARS to come. The smart money in Utilities are moving towards Green Energy sources because it RELIEVES them of the BURDENS associated with Nuclear Power AND the capricious prices of fossil fuels.

12% of TX power comes from windmills and their winterized production rate is 9% which they MAINTAINED throughout the cold spell. The entire state would NOT have had a problem if they were using windmills for power instead of the FAILURES of non-winterized fossil fuel plants.

There we go with the FOS again, whatever that is. Limbaugh was a true conservative, something you will never find among politicians. I can see how he might have made you uncomfortable. You can't even stand the faux conservatives in congress. I don't care about government web sites. I can get propaganda right here.
