The quote is crude but accurate

We are forced by the enormous trade deficit to fight for our survival

    That is not “good”

but the alternative is far worse

When china embarked on a program to capture American markets it cost them money also

They pay their workers very little and practically give the products away just to drive our manufacturers out of business

But the chinese dictatorship has a goal of dominating the world through economics

:) There goes that tax cut. :)

Have you noticed it's Korea that makes washers. Not China.

    Bulletin:
Almost everyone makes less than the US workers.

Offshoring to korea is only slightly better than sending jobs to china because south korea does not dream of dominating America economically and militarily

    But china does

As for your bullitin I happy to hear that

I grew up in the richest nation on earth

and I have no wish to give that away by making Americans work and live like chinese

But, but, that's what you are doing.
The washer tariffs brought in 82 million in taxes that were used to pay for tax cuts. 83 % of which went to the rich.
At the same time they raised the cost to everyday Americans by 1.5 billion dollars when they bought a washer/dryer.
We could have just given 1800 people $50,000 for less. Maybe send them to the best schools so they could get some "real" good jobs.

Even if it were "fixed" the above damage would be permanent.
But I keep reminding you what Trump promised.

I recall a report in the liberal news media by a clueless liberal journalist about a washing machine factory that relocateed overseas from a small midwest town

The local economy was devistated causing a lot of pain

But hey, according to the lib snowflake reporter alls wel that ends well

Because a young start-up windmill manufacturer was going move into the empty factory

Only at the end of the story did we find out that workers who were making $40 and hour making washing machines would have to settle for $10 an hour making windmills

And liberals had no problem with that

Should have used some of that wasted 1.5 billion and sent them to school so they could get a good job.

I don't recall seeing that article. Maybe you can link it.

    Yeah, yeah. Show me.
Use the money to send them to school so they can be one of the people in the office running robots at the Whirlpool plant I posted.

You have an realistic view of humans

We can’t all be above average

There will always be individuals who work with their hands and are good at it

    They need jobs too

BTW, upon further reasearch whirlpool does have manufacturing in the US again and I applaud them for that
