Mexico is the outlier. I could make arguments like you guys made about japan....different culture, drug wars, no rule of law....etc
Yep, just look at any Democratic city. Camden, Philly, Gary, Baltimore etc etc all full of Democrats.
Yep, registration will be a piece of cake here... http://articles.courant.com/2014-02...1_assault-weapons-rifles-gun-registration-law
If by "true" you mean a post hoc fallacy, then yes. Sound arguments cannot stand on fallacies. And so... Still waiting for to present a sound argument as to how it is necessary for the state to have on record the owner of each of the 356,000.000 gun in the US. So far, you have only provided unsupportable opinion.
Your "evidence" is, as explained, a post hoc fallacy. Sound arguments cannot stand on fallacies. And thus, you have no sound argument. Why do you lie to yourself?
Hiding your head in the sand and saying nah nah nah does not prevent the truth from being the truth. Why do you do it?
It probably won't last. I wish it would but the American people are not yet ready for real gun control. But it could be soon
You have a huge uphill battle to make registration happen. If you finally get enough politicians that are willing to risk their career for supporting this, it will be constitutionally challenged for the next generation.
Australian politicians were willing to gamble their careers on it. Brave men and women do exist in politics sometimes. Of course it will be challenged for a generation. Abortion is still challenged but that has held. It could happen....just not yet
The last two elections, the dems that lost their seats in congress were the ones that dared to support anti gun legislation. That why reps are the majority.
Well... that's not actually true. Say, here in Utah where I reside. I can find someone at the bottom of the state that wants to sell their gun. I can send them cash for their gun, and they can FedEx it to my door. That's completely legal. It's in state so it can be whatever firearm I want that doesn't need a special license. You cannot however ship over state lines unless it is to an FFL which means a background check has to be passed. However, criminals don't do this. They are too scared to do this. You have to remember previous facts stated by the FBI, only 11% of criminals get their firearms legally, and most of those are bought at FFL's as it is traced back to the FFL. A small number of murders are done by people who were not previously criminals. We all know this. How however, are you going to make any laws that are going to hold them up? Are you guys going to design some kind of Pre Crime Minority Report stuff? I mean, that seems to be what you guys think you can do. Throw out random statements on how you can do this and that. Why not get some psychics and start some pre-crime stuff. For instance... I can buy whatever I want, machine guns, destructive devices, whatever... If I for whatever reason lost my (*)(*)(*)(*), you couldn't make any law that would catch me up, period. Do you get what I'm saying? There will always be people who you cannot ever stop no matter what you do (other than pre-crime, seriously, you guys should petition Obama about it). So... you're not going to make a law that will stop them. Now, how about the majority of criminals that get their firearms through illegal means. How are you going to stop them? They don't do paperwork for their firearms because they get them illegally anyway so background checks don't work... They don't follow posted rules, so signs won't work... They don't listen well, so verbal warnings won't work.... How exactly do make laws that will affect them?
