Someone who thinks he or she is not the sex they were born to be is mentally ill. Just as much as the person who has a messiah complex. Yet we dont teach our kids that thinking they are Christ is not only normal but should be celebrated.

I don't know of any country where they are actually persecuted that does all that great of a job keeping track of suicide statistics.

 

I don't think atheists should have to facilitate an explicitly Christian event or ceremony, and I doubt any Christian would be petty enough to sue them. I also don't think Jews should be made to serve a Nazi function, Blacks a KKK one, or Muslims forced to print Mohammed cartoons.

Now this we can agree on. I can only think of one truly serious historian who says he didn't exist, and even he admits the presumption should be that he did.

 

I'm pretty sure we would hear about it, Christians are choosing to die rather than renounce their faith, but suicide is against their religion. If you believe man is only a cosmic accident, I guess why not?

I'm not so sure about that. Atheists are convinced there is no God, supreme being, creator ... but they do not deny human history.

As far as the gay people go yeah I think they're liars. They either weren't gay to begin with, there's still gay and they're pretending not to be, or they were just always bisexual.

I don't buy into ex-gay.

As far as transitioning goes. I think a lot of people get pushed into that without due diligence being done to understand if they truly are trans.

 

There are quite a few who buy into the whole Jesus myth hypothesis. I've debated several.

 

You are making no sense. I said the science disproves the bible. I didn't say science disproves history. You are very prejudiced and confused and to say, "No Bible, no Jesus" is absurd.

There is no choice to make. Science is right.

I think that perhaps you and ButterBalls may be making a monumental misinterpretation. If I say that John Kennedy could talk to horses then proving he could not doesn't mean he didn't exist.

 

And it is a two way street. Religion try to impose values on society and society imposes values on religion.

As an example of the later, the usual old covenant/new covenant babble won't explain away Romans 1:26-27 for churches flying gay rainbow flags. There is a church near me that has a gay flag three stories high. Talk about virtue signaling!

 

Look, we know that Jesus existed because there is an abundance of historical fact to back it up. But when you talk about virgins giving birth, wine into water, resurrections, and such bull crappy .... that's what the bible is all about.

 

No, I'm talking about atheists who actually claim that Jesus never existed. Again, I've debated against them. I'm quite sure. I can give you a list of authors who have written about it here in a sec. Acharya S is one. Richard Carrier is the only serious historian I can think of who denies that a historical Jesus existed.
