Lol. Fox paid almost a billion so Dominion would be saved embarrassment? How magnanimous of them! So generous.

Ah, the old 'everybody does it' defense.

Sorry, that doesn't. Fox is unique in it's volume of lies, just as Trump is unique among presidents for his volume of lies.

IT's the volume, that makes them unique.

But, of course, you'll never admit it. You'll dream up 'everybody does it' in order to feel good about yourself.

But, you're just lying to yourself, that's all you are doing.

Fox was sued. No one is suing Dan Rather or CBS, so there is no issue or argument there.
IT's not about lies, it's about defamation. Moreover, not all news sources get it right, but they dont get it wrong all the time, either. Fox lied ALL THE TIME. It's about VOLUME.

The russian investigation wasn't about defamation. There was tons of predication for the Russian investigation, which was led by Rosenstein, Comey and Mueller,
ALL REPUBLICANS and that investigation led to numerous indictments and revealed a lot about the Russian interference in our elections. .

    Certainly.
But the poster said to me, 'Like your President'.
So, I assumed he meant someone that was not his/her president.

And if Fox thought the machines were actually doctored, they would certainly went to prove they were not pushing lies.
Instead, they admitted to making false claims and settled before trial for $787M.

Face it, claims of a stole election is THE BIG LIE.
Fox admits it. MAGA should also.

This wasn't fake news, this was a media outlet putting out false and damning claims about a certain business. And now admitted they made false claims.

    But I hear ya.

Why would anyone trust the American justice system?

“In June, Gallup released its annual survey on public confidence in the United States Supreme Court. The Court’s rating hit a historic low, with just 25 percent of Americans reporting “quite a lot” or “a great deal” of confidence in the Court, down from 36 percent in 2021. Data show that the Court is not the only institution in which the American people are losing confidence. Faith in institutions across the board — from organized religion and public schools to news media and big business — sank in 2022. And the Court remains the most trusted of the three branches of government. But this year marked the largest one-year drop in the Court’s rating since the poll began in 1973 and the third decrease in a row. Of note: The poll was conducted before the Court issued its major rulings for the 2022 term.

Polls are just one imperfect measure of public sentiment. And judges must administer justice impartially, without favor or bias or concern for which way the winds of public opinion may blow. But the rule of law largely depends on the willingness of ordinary people, as well as political actors, to abide by court rulings. How does declining faith in the courts affect respect for the judiciary as a whole? And what can judges do to help reverse the trend?”

IOW, you could not find a statement from Fox admitting that they lied. Think about that. ;-)

Again: "Why would anyone trust the American justice system?"

Clearly a tough question for you to answer. ;-)

Why have innocent people been pleading guilty to crimes they did not commit for decades?

Virtually no-one still trusts Americas core institutions including the courts. Surely you know that.

Admitting that they made false claims? False claims are a lie.

And Dominion gets to say publicly that fox lied. And no repercussions. And fox is not correcting Dominion on it either.

Good enough for everyone but MAGA

No, no...you don't seem to understand. You can't expect me to answer your question when you haven't bothered to answer mine. Doing such makes you a hypocrite.
So, let me try this again...When you decide to be an adult and answer the question I asked you then I'll be happy to entertain any of your bulls##t. Capiche?

You DO understand the irony of your statement, right??? Hahahahaha

So, is this a summary of (what you believe,) went down?

Fox COULD absolutely prove they didn’t lie by publicly examining the machines, which would completely embarrass Dominion and exonerate Fox.

Instead, Fox decided to give Dominion almost a billion dollars while giving Dominion the power to call Fox a bunch of liars. This gives Fox the ability to ignore the issue completely.

And, what was the motivation for this extremely counter intuitive behavior that only hurts Fox?

And here I thought it was common knowledge that the machines tracked to the recounts. Seriously, establishing that fact is the only way a defamation claim could be made, e.g. Fox knowingly made false claims that damaged the reputation of Dominion.Voting Systems.

    Next.

The Trump campaign had numerous contacts with individuals linked to the Russian Government and accepted offers of assistance during the 2016 campaign in which the Russian Government waged an interference campaign.

Fox settled the Dominion suit to avoid further damage to its reputation. The Trump campaign wouldn’t have suit to pursue and wouldn’t give a thought to entering that forum for the same reason.

Saying something in order to deceive.

Maybe you should inform the poster who doesn't think that.
Telling me, who agrees with you does nothing.

Now the claim is a false claim is not a lie.

Children everywhere will be soooooo happy to know that saying they misclaimed that they cleaned their room is not a lie!

Wait until they start misclaiming what they did while out past curfew.

    Right!!

Fox could have cleared their names if what Fox and @popscott claim to be true were true.

Fox wins the case. Proves the machines were tampered with in favor of Biden. And save $787.5M.
But instead, they settled and made a public statement,
    ...
“We acknowledge the Court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false,” Fox said in a statement.
    ...

This was NOT a supreme court case, as your poll was in reference to.
In fact, this was not a criminal court at all.

So, this appears to be a misguided post in reference to the Fox libel civil case lawsuit.

Can't stick to a thread topic?
One proves to not have a point on the topic when whataboutism is the only thing they muster up to deflect from having no point.

    See why fox settled?
They know their viewers and now are able to manipulate them again to believing they are the victims.
