Mr Figueroa admitted to kidnapping and having gay sex with a little boy who was younger than 14 years of age (we do not have the true age of the child)

The courts handed down a severe sentence

Mr Figueroa is devoting his time to try and remove the stigma associated with gay pedophilia and kidnapping as he so eloquently stated

in what appears to be a display of tolerance and compassion, the student body elected him as student body president

I didn't say anything about him specifically. I don't know the details of his case, and I am sure the judge had more information than is contained in the article. All I said was that pedophiles should be locked up.

Secondly, the person who distributed the flyers has the right not to support Figuero if he doesn't think he deserves it, and he also has the right to express that lack of support if he chooses if, even if to goes against the opinion of the majority.

Apparently the courts found no wrong doing with Harvey Milk so why do you persecute him today? You do not support the courts in situations like Mr Figueroa but seem to support the courts when the SCOTUS found a way to deem the ACA as being constitutional.

My only question is whether the student body knew before he was elected and elected him anyways, or if they were surprised by it after he was in office.


It sounds like the information was available to them prior, but many didn't bother to look. I'm sure he was elected on his liberal views and heterosexual guilt where others don't want to be labeled a homophobe, decide to vote for the obviously gay candidate.

The other question I have is does he plan to resign or is there pressure for him to resign?

I know this was just a college election, not a true public servant election, but he does represent them. If they don't want a convicted pedophile representing them, then maybe a recall election is in order.... IDK


My university had about 40k students and student elections were a joke. The only people that voted in them were groups that were running for offices. It's good practice for real life, but not like they really do anything.
