You claimed this before, but your own source said something else.

If it's reality, shouldn't there be some evidence for it?

    Yes.

    No.

Unfortunately, you did let down my expectations regarding your objectivity ! As a German you should know more about your history ! By denying the truth about Swabians , you are just proving how low the intellect and moral capacity of one can fall !

C'mon stop twisting my facts ! But, avoiding the truth about your compatriots won't help you !

While the Badeschiff is cool idea, it'll be a fade in a decade.

Hauptwache is amazing as a central hub point for local mass transit. Which puts you at the Zeil an area of shopping, which spans between Hauptwache and Konstablerwache.. just add a block or two down to Börsenstraße.

Museumsuferfest is amazing. 3 days long, and 3 million visitors to it.

Both cities are cool places to visit, but Frankfurt is more livable due to it's international flair due to International banking.

This is a thread about German people, so discussing Swabians of Vojvojdina would be on topic here.

You want objectivity? Practice what you pray.

Frankfurt has skycrapers. In Berlin it's impossible to build that high, because the ground is all sand there. In Dresden there could be skyscrapers, but the city management never wanted it. It's about the historical Dresden skyline, I guess. Frankfurt is cool, it would have been a good place for being the German capital, because it's more central, but I think, it has been between Bonn and Berlin, Frankfurt or Hanover haven't been discussed.

So you (dis)agree that Swabians are Germans and that they were driven out by serbs ?

    Objectivity is my desire !

Oh, and btw Goethe is my favorite German writer - it is considered that he has had the biggest IQ ever !

There are great parties everywhere and I've been to some great ones in Belgium, too. Some impressive musicians in the genre I'm into are from Belgium.
Here's one example: Sonar, power noise at its best: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKh77hT8o1k&feature=player_detailpage"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKh77hT8o1k&feature=player_detailpage[/ame]

It's all a question of listening habits. Once you've refined your ears you'd be able to distinguish quality electronic music from the Kirmes-Techno, you're probably thinking of.
But don't worry, I'm a bigoted philistine too: I positively hate Metal even though I know some very nice Metal-fans who've been trying hard to warm my heart for the stuff. Didn't help: nothing against good old rock and punk, but metal just seems silly to me. I keep asking myself why anybody should want to masturbate on stage with a guitar rather than in the privacy of their home with their genitals. Well, can't argue about taste.

I don't have a bad view upon youngsters at all. Even though I'm well in my thirties and my bones are getting a bit brittle for hard partying by now, I still like to think of myself as young occasionally and I've certainly had my part in the "generation easyJet".

But of course there's more to Berlin than just partying. The reason Berlin is so 'sexy' is that it's poor, i.e. artists and young creative people found it cheap to live and work there. Especially after the wall came down there was an abundance of cheap places for minimal rent or squatting. Unfortunately that is about to change, gentrification is in full swing and the money that was wasted on the Potsdamer Platz was just the beginning.

I agree, that Swabians are Germans, I don't agree, that they have been driven out by Serbs on a large scale.

I come from a refugee family myself, my dad's is from East Prussia. They have not been driven out, large parts of East Prussian population went West when the front line came closer, I guess, it was a similar thing in Vojvojdina.

    This is a good start.

Classicism, sometimes difficult to read, except you know a lot about Greek mythology.

Well, I suppose Frankfurt is livable for a banker.

Frankfurt has the highest GDP per capita in Europe, it's also 7th highest quality of life worldwide. It's literally the "mecca" of all business in Germany. It's why the city has many nicknames..one of them being Mainhattan. Is Frankfurt any different then any other city around the world? Absolutely not.

Mrs. Hannelore Kohl had been 12 years old when some russian soldiers raped her and threw her through an window on the street like a bag of cement. She had to suffer her whole life on a defect in her backbone.

They actually told us in school, that the part about all coming together to fight the high tide in Faust I shows, that Goethe was somehow an early Communist.

In reality Goethe was rather a fan of America.

That's also what his nanny said after he had learned to give his servant the order to tie his shoelaces. She said to him: "Little Goethili - you will become a very good communist under Stalin!" So he was very proud and started to write "Die rote Faust Stalins" (="The red fist of Stalin") and reduced it later to "Faust" (="fist").

Correct :). Both, Jacobs Grim and Goethe, learned Serbian language in order to read Serbian Epic poetry in original. In 1824. Vuk S. Karadzic was a Goethe's guest and next year Goethe published translation of the Serbian epic poetry.

Now, about Swabians...it's kind of popular subject lately. I'd like to remind people of the WW2 and creation of the Yugoslavia (SFRY) after war ended. Tito, who has been half Croat-half Slovene had an absolute power back then.

    Famous Swabian in Serbia
    Georg Weifert

15 June 1850, Pančevo – 12 January 1937, Belgrade) was a Serbian industrialist of German descent, Governor of the National Bank of Serbia and later Yugoslavia. In addition, he is considered the founder of the modern mining sector in Serbia.

Weifert on the 1000 Serbian dinar bill.

Well ,finally you agreed with me on something ! Pity, you have to close your eyes and deny the fact how Swabians had to leave their places where they resided for centuries driven out by serbian agression and massive killings. They did the same with Hungarians. As I said , Vojvodina is an unique example of silent ethnic cleansing conducted by serbs !

Sorry to hear that, at least your family didn't had the fate of Swabians, who were not only forcefully expelled but they were killed also in large numbers by serbs !
Well , I always try to be objective !

Of course, to read Goethe you must have a background or knowledge on relevant fields except mythology !

You said this and Wikipedia said something else, so without any evidence on your side I will go with the Wikipedia story about this one.

Most Swabians left, too, before the war was over, in both cases evacuation started late. My grandpa wrote a letter to my grandpa, that she should immediatedly, so they took some suitcases and left. They did not wait for being evacuated and they could leave with one of the last trains going West with civilians at this time, which was good, because trecks and ships were in danger of being attacked by airplanes and submarines. Trecks were even in danger to be run over by German tanks.

That's why make up things about silent ethnic cleansing in Vojvojdina?

Which fields would this be? Maybe Christianity to some degree. Symbols or persons mainly come from Greek mythology, in Faust I, for instance. Faust II is more difficult to understand anyway.

I would be really interested what's your source for this statement. And I would also be interested how you definded the word "most" in this context and what "war is over" could had meant for this people.
