They are grounded in the U.S. and I think in most places around the world. Apparently that one was allowed to fly empty so the grounding no doubt only affects flights carrying passengers. Personally I applaud the grounding and making sure any problems with the 737 MAX are corrected. But two 737 MAX's have crashed out of the hundreds in service that have flown many thousands of miles. And those crashes have both been reported with suggestions of improper maintenance and pilot error. However there was a design flaw in the flight-control system that Boeing has been working to redesign and replace in all 737 MAX models affected.

The Airbus has a much worse record than Boeing and Boeing overall builds a really good airplane having very few crashes that involve any kind of failure of the aircraft despite thousands of aircraft flying hundreds of millions of miles.

I think the German airport way over reacted in not allowing that plane to land there.

In america i would vote for migrants, gender gaga and homos even so im against homos, gender gaga and all that ****?

    Care to explain?

Look, i´m a german nationalist. trump is an enemy of Germany.

If i would be american i would vote Trump. Whats good for our country, is bad for yours. Its a classic zero sum game. if you win, we lose. If we win, you lose. And thats i evry field.

In Iraq was a hard conflict who wins teh giant contract to build teh enw grid there. In the end we won. You lost. That Boeing loses is also a win for us. On the other side, trumps tariffs mean losses for us.

Its in the nature of nationalism, that true alliances are hard or even impossible.

Or in short: America First leaves no place for Germany first. Same counts for the other way around.

Care to explain why Boeings fly so loud and with such extreme dry air?
Why do i step out an A380 after a 14h flight and feel great but feel like a zombie after a 12h flight on a Boeing 777?

People who openly claim their ethnicity is superior to others, or those who degrade other people’s races/ethnicities tend to have low brain power. They do that because it’s the only thing they have going for themselves. Losers.

    764AB95B-506E-423B-8196-34410E0E9546.png

Of course they say that to you. People tend to complement each other, especially at work.

    I don’t hate you.
    I’m mocking you because:
You start a thread over something incredibly petty, attempting to make a big deal out of it.
You use word “crush” a lot when in reality what you describe what happened is insignificant.
You are attempting to insult others based on their ethnicities/races/nationalities.
You think you are better than anyone else when in reality you seem to be below average.

Your nationalism is cute, but Germany is not the best country in the world. When I was younger and single I could easily move there, but I just didn’t want to. I’m a Slav and Germany wasn’t good enough for me.

No clue. I haven't had a problem flying on any model of Boeing--I actually hate flying on anything these days--but the Boeing continues to have an excellent safety record. Which is what this is about isn't it? Not that you have a personal prejudice against Boeings for whatever reason?

That German airport still ridiculously overrreacted by not allowing that airplane to land.

Oh sure, the Mouthy Germans are now claiming they will shoot down US planes?

    https://www.stripes.com/news/as-ger...le-its-military-readiness-is-abysmal-1.527253

    The Mouth that Roared.

STUTTGART, Germany — Germany’s military is virtually undeployable and security experts say it is too weak to meet its obligations to its allies, as it prepares to assume command of NATO’s crisis response force next year.

The German military is one of the least combat ready in NATO.

“The readiness of the German military is abysmal,” said Jorge Benitez, a NATO expert with the Atlantic Council in Washington. “For years, German leaders have known that major elements of their armed forces, such as tanks, submarines and fighter jets, are not fully operational and can’t be used for actual military missions.”

Trump remains fixated on Germany as a security free-rider: The alliance “helps them a hell of a lot more than it helps us,” Trump said.

New German capability gaps have been brought to light in recent weeks, piling up on top of old ones that Berlin has failed to fix.

Among the failures: none of Germany’s submarines is operational, only four of its 128 Eurofighter jets are combat-ready and the army is short dozens of tanks and armored vehicles needed for NATO missions.

The situation is so dire that 19 helicopter pilots from Germany’s Bundeswehr were forced to turn in their flight licenses because of a lack of training time.

How in the hell are you going to defend your air defenses with only FOUR operational Eurofighter jets in the entire country?

    Complete Farce.

SMART DIPLOMACY: Spend more on defense or we move troops to Poland, U.S. envoy tells Free-Loading Germany.

BERLIN, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Germany's reluctance to spend on defense as it relies on U.S. troops for protection is offensive, Richard Grenell, the U.S. Ambassador to Germany said on Friday.

Free-Loading Germany continues to fail to raise defense spending to 2% of economic output as mandated by the NATO military alliance.

"It is offensive to assume that the U.S. taxpayers continue to pay for more than 50,000 Americans in Germany but the Germans get to spend their (budget) surplus on domestic programs," Grenell told the dpa news agency.

Germany plans to reduce their defense to 1.24% in 2023.

Eastern European countries like Poland and Latvia, fearful of Russia after it annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, have raised their military spending to the 2% target

Georgette Mosbacher, U.S. Ambassador to Poland, has made a similar criticism of Germany's reluctance to commit more financial resources to NATO.

"Poland meets its 2% of GDP spending obligation towards NATO. Germany does not. We would welcome American troops in Germany to come to Poland," she wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

The United States has more than 33,000 soldiers in Germany and an additional 17,000 U.S. civilian employees to support them.

"President Trump is right and Georgette Mosbacher is right," Grenell told dpa. "Multiple presidents have asked Europe's largest economy to pay for its own defence. This request has been made over many years and by many presidents."

Germany banned 737 max. You say an airport should break laws?

Why should we when you pay? This will continue until the party ends. As long we are not forced to spend more on defense, we will not do so.

There is simply no need for it in current situation.

Well umm yeah, Germany pretty much is best country in world. When i visited USA (Gastonia) it was not good enough fod me. I felt not good there and i could not imagine to live there.

I was roughly 4 weeks there and had several things that were bizarre for me.

Britain, France, and Germany banned it from their airspace following the Ethiopian crash, a rather rash response to something attributed more to lax maintenance and pilot error rather than a malfunctioning airplane. But your OP says the flight landed in France, which it did. The plane was being moved by Norwegian Air between Spain and Sweden. The only reason the plane would have for landing at all would be because it needed to land somewhere. So bah to Germany and kudos to France who made an exception for a aircraft in distress.

There is a ban on this aircraft in german airspace. It circled for hours above france becsuse Germany did uphold the ban and made no exception. I think its our right to decide about our airspace, right?

Bad, bad president Trump demanding NATO members to pay their agreed upon share of the defense budget and maintaining their defense forces in a battle ready state. Who does he think he is, a president or something? :roflol:

Not even close. Now, if all the Germans move out somewhere, the countryside could be nice.

Certainly. What's not right is the pilot filed a flight plan before taking off and had permission to fly over Germany. German air traffic controllers stopped the flight before entering Germany, endangering the crew, and forcing the crew to find at alternative routes. Fortunately their was no passengers on board. The Norwegian pilot should be praised not flying over hostile territory. Germany is like North Korea now.

Comparing the two aircraft is rather pointless. The 747 was created 35 years before the 380.
