Just read in another thread, which was unrelated to the title, about our friend Rush Limbaugh. Seems that they are going to hold the company that puts Rush on responsible. If Clear Channel won't clean up its airways, then surely it's time for the public to ask the FCC a basic question: Are the stations carrying Limbaugh's show in fact using their licenses "in the public interest?" I really dont think his hate talk is in the public interest with comments like (to an African American woman) Take the bone out of your nose and call me back. If I were to say that out at a club here in Portland I would be arrested for hate crime against the woman How he can get away with hate crimes amazes me. I dont think anyone white, black or other should speak as he does to any other American. He needs to be taken off. I think libs should stamp their feet and hold their breath until Limbaugh is off the air. You say he needs to be "taken off." That is a very typical attitude by libs who do not understand the free market or the First Amendment.
Not, of course to be confused with the abuse of free speech, since both are covered by the Constitution.
It's not "Free Speech" as we see in red and bold, but for some odd reason, when Randi Rhodes a Democrat says thing (about her own party mind you) calling people whores (Hilary Clinton) she gets canned.. fired... Did you "Republicans" say - "No, don't fire Rhodes..." What is good for the goose is good enough for the racist....
The irony is that Randi Rhodes is still on the air..... on Clear Channel no less! Rush is entertainment, not news. The fact he has listeners shows that he is "serving the public interest" no matter how offensive you find it. I find Alex Jones very offensive and sometimes borderline treasonous. I will speak out against him, but I would never claim he should be off the air even if I personally don't see the "public interest" side of his show. Nobody is forcing you or any other liberal to listen to Rush. If you find him offensive, turn the channel. How hard is that? That is what America did to Air America and it went out of business when not enough people would listen to them anymore. If America finds Rush offensive enough, they will stop listening to him as well and he will go off the air.
Sign a petition to get Limbaugh off the air? Nope. Won't do it. We as a society can do a lot better than that. All we need do is to speak the Truth in the face of his incessant lies. Eventually, people would open their eyes and see just how stupid he and others of his ilk are. Unfortunately, libs and lefties are too cowardly to do so. Thus, it is not Limbaugh's loud mouth that is the problem. It is the cowardly meekness of his opposition that is the problem. I can give you examples but you can find those in my earlier posts. Silence is death and libs/lefties have no one to blame but themselves for the fact that loud mouths like him get away with all the treasonous trash they say. For the record, I posted about this dozens and dozens of times in the democraticunderground before I got banned by that forum's treasonous Zionist America haters. No one from the left dared to speak up. All the did was to cowardly sit back like a bunch of political sissies and whine about the loudness of the far right. You pay a price for sissiness. And all too other these lib/lefties fail to see it. Forcibly silencing Limbaugh is Nazi style censorship. This is something I will NEVER do. Speak the Truth and he and his ilk will be helpless.

I do not like Rush but his words were far kinder than a certain left-wing commentator said about Palin. Even making fun of her handicapped child. He still has a job and his doing very well. He recently donated 1,000,000 dollars to the "woman friendly" Obama's reelection campaign. I believe you said why she got fired she insulted someone in her own party. The old saying you don't defecate(self censored) where you eat would apply. (I will resist Hilliary joke for moral high ground)
