If you saw celebration in Iran, it was not that they were mourning. And if you saw mourning, show us evidence?

Again, I am not up for your typical brawls today.

History tells us the Muslims kept expanding by conquering nation upon nation. And being defended against.

Constantinople was an important Christian site. And today it is a what religious site?

    - - - Updated - - -

Gives you a fine reason to despise we Christians huh?

Normally Iranians doing that end up fearing they will be killed. Such as this child.

I have asked Ronstar to join me in fighting the Bigots that argue over we Mormons and thus far, dead silence. I know he read it. Asking him to support me as he supports Muslims is not a tall order. I have not called him a bigot for his lack of support. I got called out by him telling me I am one.

The proper question to ask, really, is: would it hurt the US any to do completely without Muslims"? answer is "of course not". Would we have a lot less risk of terrorist acts here? Of course we would. So why not get rid of them?

Constantinople was sacked by Western Christians for the sin of being Eastern Christians.

Does this come close to a hint that it is the Christians and not Mulims in charge today?

    1- Common Sense

2- I have studied the Koran, researched a fair amount of Islamic history

3- I've professionally taught critical thinking and mental discipline- sometimes, to psychologists.

4- I've had family and friends that lived in Turkey and Syria, in Muslim communities, but were not Muslim.

5- It's also my personal opinion and conclusion based on those things.

One can certainly argue that all Muslims are not the same. It is hard to make a viable argument for the values of Islam or the shroud of love and peace they try to hide behind. Too much hard evidence.

here is how Iran reacted to 9-11:

Despite Iran's rocky relations with the U.S., both Iranian president Mohamed Khatami[26][27][28] and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei condemned and denounced the attacks and the terrorists who carried out the attacks. Iranians who gathered for a soccer match in Tehran two days after the 9/11 attacks observed a moment of silence. There was also a candlelight vigil. Huge crowds attended candlelit vigils in Iran, and 60,000 spectators observed a minute's silence at Tehran's soccer stadium.[29][30] On Tuesday, September 25th, in 2001, Iran's fifth president, Mohammad Khatami meeting British Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, said: "Iran fully understands the feelings of the Americans about the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington on September 11." He said although the American administrations had been at best indifferent about terrorist operations in Iran (since 1979), the Iranians instead felt differently and had expressed their sympathetic feelings with bereaved Americans in the tragic incidents in the two cities." He also stated that "Nations should not be punished in place of terrorists." [31] According to Radio Farda's website, in 2011, on the anniversary of the attacks, United States Department of State, published a post at its blog, in which the Department thanked Iranian people for their sympathy and stated that they would never forget Iranian people's kindness on those harsh days. This piece of news at Radio Farda's website also states that after the attacks' news was released, some Iranian citizens gathered in front of the Embassy of Switzerland in Tehran, which serves as the protecting power of the United States in Iran, to express their sympathy and some of them lit candles as a symbol of mourning. No, she is a Lebanese Christian who saw her home and city destroyed by Muslims.
I could find no evidence that this is true. The war didn't even start until 1939, and at that time, the only allies were Britain, France, and Poland. Even assuming it were true, the British had held control in the Middle East until recently (after the end of WWI), so opposing Britain would not have been in their best interest.

Describing other people as "haters" and "ignorant" is hateful, bigoted commentary. Try describing them as "my political opponents" and "ill-informed". However, from what I've seen, you are the one who is unwilling to consider any other opinions.

Some (many?) on here may know of this site already, but I've only just discovered it, experts on Islam, including at least one moderate Muslim: http://www.meforum.org/ (I've been familiar with Daniel Pipes for years, of course.)

Question for the left on here: Why is it that every Western expert on Islam and the Middle East, and every former Muslim of note say that Islam and the West are fundamentally incompatible? What makes Ayaan Hirsi Ali wrong and you right? What makes Daniel Pipes, probably the foremost scholar on Islam and the Middle East in the world, wrong, and you, a layman, right? What makes Henrik Day Poulsen, a trained psychiatrist working with criminal migrants in Denmark, wrong, and you right? (http://islamversuseurope.blogspot.com/2013/07/danish-forensic-psychiatrist-muslims.html) [The link to the original article in Danish still works, and Google translate essentially confirms the accuracy of the English language article. I read an article by Poulsen, too, in English translation; it was quite good, but I don't see it in my search results now.]

Well there you go. It was covered. And for some odd reason, though i well recall September 11, I must have missed it.

Was that special for you at the time? Watching an Iranian Soccer match and by golly they had a moment of silence.

    I mean, that is special.

Fear, ignorance & hate all go hand in hand.

As just one of the people submitting comments to this Forum who has actually spent time in the Islamic World, I can say from personal experience that I have never experienced as much open generosity & warm hospitality as I did hitch hiking throughout the Islamic Middle East.

There is possibly no better litmus test to measure the trust & generosity of a culture than hitch-hiking by yourself. Most times I was given a ride, the ride included side trips to meet family & friends, see obscure archeological wonders & almost always treatment to tea or a free meal. I quickly learned that it is highly insulting to try to pay for your own meal while in the company of a Muslim host as an example of their cultural differences.

Even though I was there for 10 - 11 months traveling by myself & enjoying the hospitality of my many Muslim hosts I met along the way, I never had a single hostile experience my entire time.

It appears to be a sad reality that the people who know the least about Muslims (or any other group) are those who are the most ignorant of that group's members & its true culture.

    Thanks

I road a motorbike through Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and down to Egypt, I too was treated with nothing but kindness. I still communicate a lot with friends I made in Algeria and Tunisia, hopefully I will get out there again at the end of this year.

Congratulations & thanks for confirming realities that bigoted, anti Islamic couch potatoes are unable to grasp.

I, too, wrote to some of my Islamic hosts in Iraq until the U.S. Government was driven to kill them by the Zionist lobbies[1] who currently seem to dictate America's Mid East Foreign Policy.

I consider the following two quotes salient to our current Mid East imbroglio / quagmire:

“There was not a single act of Arab terrorism against Americans before 1968, when the U.S. became the chief supplier of military equipment and economic aid to Israel.”

"Every time anyone says that Israel is our only friend in the Middle East, I can't help but think that before Israel, we had no enemies in the Middle East."-- John Sheehan,

Best wishes for a safe and pleasant return journey.
