Short version; Does or is it probable that highly advanced* aliens exist *(advanced means anything from a thousand years to 13 billion years ahead of we humans). Expand if desired. Long detailed version~ I posted a similar thread to this about a year ago, but it degraded into a pissing contest and insult-fest between believers and non-believers with only the agnostics offering a little productive debate discussion or comment. So let us give it another try I am asking for serious comment only and no hard sarcasm, insult etc. Some comic relief with a bit of sensitivity for the other member’s nuances will always acceptable and even encouraged. Ok, here is the talking point… again (lol); If highly advanced* aliens exist or have existed in the 14 + or - a few billion year old universe, and if they are, or began at least as intelligent* as we, could they be the creator God of the religions ? Christianity is of course included. Would you opine that saying yes, ET does or probably does exist, and yes, they could have been the God of the earth’s religions or of a single religion, would such an opinion be blasphemy or heresy/sacrilege to do so? If yes, to who is the heresy/sacrilege committed. Is the belief that aliens are God an insult to God itself or does such a belief the insult church and believers of traditional religious interpretations? Feel free to comment on anything related to the subject. I Will make a comment as the first post as to shorten this bit. Notes; * Highly advanced means the upper age of the universe ie billions of years more advanced than we humans at time of contact or their ‘technological age‘. to more than 13 billion years advanced than we. The first figure, a thousand years a\more advanced is scary especially if the aliens are benevolent. Some perspective to compare us to ET a grand advanced… the ETs that have already conquer interstellar, maybe intergalactic, maybe extra universe (dimensional shifting) ‘travel’ what were we doing a thousand years ago? In 1212 knights of the cross won a decisive mother of all Christian crusades battle at Toledo (Europe) defeating the Islamic forces in the “Reconquest” of the Iberian Peninsula. Ah’ the good ole’ days, well not really !!! But if the aliens were millions or god forbid billions of years more advanced than we, well my PF friends that is the same advancement that we earthlings have over bacteria and proto viruses or no life at all! Lol. That aren’t scary its terrifying. There is no question that in my book a race a billion more advanced than we, and a race that had a normal rate of ‘evolvement’ equivalent to we humans they would be like God if not God. The ONLY difference and question would be if ET was created by an even more ancient race or a traditional God. reva
I could respond with several pages discussing this subject..but wont. I'm open to multiple civilizations preceding the Adam & Eve story as many new 'lost civilizations of intelligent ppl's (as 'mighty men of old', inter-marrying with the sons of God', etc) are being discovered, and such as those in Peru (the Nasca lines, etc) & Turkey (12K+ yrs ago buried city Göbekli Tepe with no local animals such as the rhino sculpted on their walls just 100 miles from Mt. Ararat) built beyond the supposed knowledge that they had at their times and that we couldnt do w/o heavy machinery and much time; evidence that intelligence visited early man to 'spring board' his knowledge. Nothing in scripture denies such, and one would think that a ppl's who are far beyond our selfish & warlike civilizations would be settled and peaceful as being possibly millions of years beyond us, who have grown exponentially in our knowledge & achievements in the past 3-5 K years of documented civilization. Events such as major tsunamis, super volcanoes, and many asteroid impacts could easily cover up past ancient civilizations that we are just now discovering. And so, I'm not dogmatic about much, have an open mind, and welcome all knowledge as to our history and who else is out there...
Anything is possible. If aliens where here thousands of years ago that would explain a lot of what the bible says. The bible in some ways backs that theory.
Welcome back. We could probably just refer to such 'aliens' as the "ancient ones" as mentioned in the Stargate series on TV.
