The Democrats took back the Congress January of 2007 with a good economy and low unemployment and we came under their policies and it was their job to pass legislation to help mitigate the slowdown and then recession and then recovery and they failed on all fronts costing us trillions and putting the people through the worst employment conditions in modern times. Again it is laughable that you would assert that after 10 years finally winning back the Congress and Pelosi and Reid just bowed down to Bush and did his bidding.

The recession didn't start until a year after the Democrats took back the Congress they had to pass the measures to try to mitigate it and they were having none of Bush's policies such as the ones he and the Republicans passed in 2001 to help mitigate the depth and length of that recession/dot/com bust/911 and get us into a full recession. They lame ducked him.

If the employment rates are nearing full employment now why do people need this money? Government workers have worked all through this thing receiving their paychecks, should they be getting this money? If so why?

I don’t oppose it, but I don’t really get why everyone is getting it. My wife works for a govt and I work for a govt union, we don’t really need it, but it’ll come in handy.

 

Thank you for proving my point that it is uneeded by most and only spending money our children and grand children will have to pay the interest on. If you don't need it then give it back to the government or donate to a charity.

 

Oh I’ll be giving it back, in fact I’ll be sending quite a bit more than they’re giving.
