Ohio lawmakers decide to respond to the Ohio State University attack.......

On Monday Ohio Governor John Kasich (R) signed Senate Bill 199, thereby legalizing concealed carry on college and university campuses where school trustees vote to allow it.
SB 199 also removes a state ban on concealed carry in the public areas of airports and on carrying guns for self-defense at daycares. The status of concealed carry at daycares is now in the hands of individual business owners, who can decide whether to allow concealed carry at their respective businesses.
Cleveland.com reports that SB 199 “also prohibits employers from banning concealed handgun permit holders from bringing guns into company parking lot.” The various aspects of the new law take “effect in 90 days.”

Each college board decides to allow/deny.
University of Toledo already said their no-carry policy would remain.

yep, and this bill has been in the making for at least a year. The jihadist with the knife probably provided some additional support of the passage

With RINO's like Kasich there is always a loophole. They just can't get out of the way and stop infringing on peoples rights.

Outside of very conservative schools like seminaries, no school will allow their students to carry. The law is toothless and a waste of time. Kasich is trying to appease conservatives without alienating the liberals.

Glad the Colorado Supreme Court slapped down efforts to prevent campus carry here.

Slowly, very slowly, the realization is dawning that trained citizens with carry permits are not the problem. In fact, they just might, perhaps, maybe, really, actually be a small part of a solution.

It is coming up on three years here in Illinois since we got the permits and there has been no realization of any of the bloodbath scenarios advertised by the Libs. I would hope to see some of the fringe restrictions start to go away one of these days.

However, this law also made those carrying with licenses subject to much lighter (Minor Misdemeanor rather than felonies) on HS property etc

Awesome. I wish Florida will move with legalizing open carry.
