Unfortunately, this is false. Let me explain it to you. Size it is not related to intelligence. Naturally it is a factor, and a brain can be handicapped by size. However, just because an elephant has a big brain isn't smarter than a human. There are a fair share of brains bigger than humans in the world. What does diferenciate our brains to theirs, (and Neanderthals to ours) are the neural sinapsis. There are basically 8 important related genes regarding that. and some of them are different between us and them. And unfortunately for Neanderthals, our synaptic neural connections allows us to do together they were not. So, no, they weren't more intelligent than us. The opposite: we were more intelligent.

Edit: intelligence is a very difficult concept to define. While neandertals had some abilities we didn't have, they have critical flaws which propelled them to extinction. So, we can safely assume that our intellectual advantages outstripped our disadvantages against them.

And no, we can't "assume" that just because one group won out in the end. Unintelligent people tend to have more children than intelligent people in the modern world, that doesn't make unintelligent people smarter.

Homo Sapiens more numerous, for one thing, and had a wider span. There are likely a multitude of reasons not related to intelligence on why they outcompeted the Neanderthal.

Here's a question though, why are you allowed to brag about your group's supposed intelligence advantage over Europeans, but Europeans can't do the same over blacks, for example? Is it just another double standard?

 

Could turn out to be true. But a lower jaw and tooth is pretty thin, compared to the mountains of hominid fossils from Africa. It's interesting, but far from conclusive.

And then there is the fact that it could also simply reflect holes in the fossil record -- we may find an even older specimen in Africa tomorrow.
