This conversation is about innocent people being shot by cops that perceive a threat where there is none. THAT is the problem.

And I don't need to be up to bad behavior to fear that. Working downtown in a major city it crosses my mind sometimes. If I may, walking from work or to, for the description Of someone that may be a suspect for something, just because of the sweatshirt I'm wearing. It's happened....

If you don't fear cops that's fine. If you want to stick your head in the sand and use the often regurgitated "don't do anything illegal BS," you don't belong here. You have nothing useful to add.

I for one think an innocent person killed by a pea-brained steroid with a badge is one too many. They shouldn't be given a pass.

Above most maybe, straw man, half-***ed arguments like yours should be squashed.

A person is dead. One that didn't commit a crime, by someone who is supposed to protect. The world is not as black and white as the fairytales you clearly seem to still believe.

Stop it with this off topic nonsense. This cop had the suspect ON THE GROUND. He DID NOT cuff him, instead giving him bizarre instructions. In what world should a cop ever ask someone to get up after laying down when at gunpoint?

Total BS. Innocent people and people IN GENERAL deserve the benefit of the doubt until proven a threat, regardless of statistics.

And a thing about statistics... your numbers are horse manure. Raw numbers have no value in analysis without reference. It's reported like that to get the shock factor "WOW THATS A LOT!" But its worthless. Proportionalities and trends matter.

Cops have a dangerous job. It doesn't give them a right to execute someone because they are non-compliant to bizarre commands.

BEAUTIFUL! I do agree. The public in this country is willfully brainwashed which is tied directly to the pervasive paranoia in country which stems from knowing of wrongs done. This is where all paranoia comes from. For instance, when a local drug dealer is unfamiliar with a new "client", he or she automatically thinks the new druggie is a cop or po-lice. the doing of wrong and the knowing of wrongs done is/are the mother and father of paranoia. Russians are far less brainwashed than Americans and this is a known FACT.

 

Do the fourteen year old and the forty year old have similar names? Did the information or tip that the police were working from, come from a CI (bad intel)?

 

This is just for those who care for their own life and want to keep it: Don't ever play with a firearm, or even something that looks like a firearm. Just don't do it.

Many police agents are in fact domestic terrorists. If you keep track, many new officers come from nation that have routine repression and violations of rights, be said rights natural or government granted.

A few years back? So all your regular police are all trained in military tactics? You don't think that military training has an affect on how they treat the public? I would think for the amount of times you'd need the firepower of a tactical squad you'd only need one for a county or metropolitan area. A few years ago there were an alarming number of uses of tactical squads around the Baltimore metro area. No knock warrants with tactical teams were being criticized by a lot of people. Newspapers printed cartoons of tactical squads shooting paper targets of dogs since no matter how much of a threat, all dogs in a house are hunted down and killed by these squads. Some uses were based on no more than a tip. Some went to the wrong address. One bashed into the home of a local mayor, killed his dogs, and put their boot on grandma's neck as she lay on the floor. But they got your crazy guy so all is well.

 

I'm not going to be so silly and prejudiced that I get worked up over a few bad shootings by cops. However, if you participate in the thug life and culture, then your are going to have a greater chance of being stopped by the police.

 

Soldiering is most often very violent work once training is done and first orders to the field are received.

If you are so enraged by this one particular instance of a cop wrongly killing an innocent suspect, then I'd suggest you form a mob and burn down the city where it happened.

INNOCENT people who are calmly going about their day and not resisting arrest don't deserve to get shot by the police, and only in the most rare cases does that happen.

 

It also helps NOT to behave Black!

 

The same principle applies; if you cannot handle the environment, either quit or do not join.

 

Most blacks are perfect gentlemen. But you don't hear about them or see them in the news because they never do anything wrong.
