There's no surprise that it's women driving our economy. How well they control it is downright scary, but that's for a different thread, under Husbands and Other ATMs. (*wink*)

Try something novel, like a real thought or legitimate question and see. Evasion and denial isn't working for you.

Of course ghettos are in cities. Do you think they build low income housing developments in the country? They are always in cities especially ones with public transportation, for obvious reasons. So how is that a failure of Dems or any politician for that matter? People who live in ghettos are there due to the choices THEY made. You and I chose to work hard to be successful whereas many of those who live in ghettos didn’t. That is not the fault of any politician.

Pathetic evasion. Who allocates funds for the federal government?

Bullshit. Half of those dead were slavers who tried to destroy the US just so they could keep owning humans.
The other half were killed by those racist rebel traitors.
I'd say the confederacy descendants owe the rest of us bigly.

But to those folks in the north that ended slavery, THANKS.

Those southerners need to be put into history books and off the lawns of state capitals. Those traitors. Why don't today's republicans want the statues of those traitors removed? Why doesn't tRUMP want those traitor statues removed? Does he want to be a traitor also? How about his the supporters of tRUMP?

At age 82 you were not around to have fought in the Civil War. You father was not likely to have either. The most likely reletive of yours to have fought in the Civil War was your great grandfather. If you were told that you owe Blacks reparations for slavery you will say that you never owned slaves, your parents, your grandparents never owned slaves. So why would you owe reparations.

Conclusion you and Blacks are now EQUAL, you are even. Blacks do not owe you a thank you and you do not owe reparations.

    You happy now, feel relieved!!

You hide, ignore, or purposely misrepresent the fact that 360.000 of that 620,000 were Union soldiers who died. The 260,000 who died were Rebels and the Rebels fought to keep Blacks enslaved. You want Blacks to thanks those who fought to keep Blacks enslaved to thank the slave holders and slavery supporters!

The Democrats have run the cities on average for 30 years, and have failed their poor of all colors at every turn, while simultaneously promising more federal money to cure all their many ills. Odd how much of that cash never arrives, or gets stolen in pieces along the way. Happens all the time in Detroit and Chicago.

If it's fair to blame Trump for all national ills it is also fair to blame Democrat mayors for failing their poor.

In what specific ways have Dems “promised more money to cure all their many ills”? Please be specific?
And no, it’s not fair one bit to blame Trump for all national ills.
Politicians can only do so much. What they can’t do is make everyone successful which is why no politician has ever stated they can make everyone successful.

What part of Democrat Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty did you not learn in middle school? They proposed it. They passed it. They funded it. They failed at it.

“by helping the poor access economic opportunities long denied them”
Key part “helping the poor access”. As I stated before, politicians can only do so much. They can offer help but they can’t make people take the help and become successful as a result of said help. Ultimately it’s the people that fail at becoming successful. No one can legislate people into being successful. You’re putting blame on the wrong people. You have this need to blame politicians for everything. Sorry, but if Joe Citizen is poor and living in the ghetto he only has himself to blame. End of story.

The agencies which failed him bear equal fault. Social Services is a joke. Battered women can attest to that. Forensic services, ditto. The County of Wayne, Michigan had thousands of backlogged rape-kit DNA exams. The system let those women down. Democrats run Wayne County and have for decades.

What do rape kits and battered women have to do with people being poor die to their own choices? You’re grasping at straws in your desperation to blame Dems for everyone’s problems. Good luck to you.

    What a load of hogwash!!!

In March 1861, after secession but before the Civil War broke out, Alexander H. Stephens, the Confederate vice president and one of the most perceptive and brightest men in the Confederate government, forcefully set out the reasons for secession and the creation of the Confederacy in his famous "Cornerstone Speech." Here, Stephens tied slavery to race, making clear that the cornerstone of the Confederacy was not merely chattel slavery, but also on the assumption of the racial and ethnic superiority of the ruling class and the utter inferiority and subordination of blacks.

Thus Stephens declared that, “Our new government is founded upon . . . its foundations are laid, its corner-stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery – subordination to the superior race – is his natural and normal condition.” Stephens denounced the northern claims (which he incorrectly attributed to Thomas Jefferson) that the “enslavement of the African was in violation of the laws of nature; that it was wrong in principle, socially, morally, and politically.” He unabashedly asserted: “Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite idea.” Stephens argued that it was “insanity” to believe “that the negro is equal” or “that slavery was wrong.”

I am citing actual examples where Democrats let their people down. No desperation is required to understand historic endemic incompetence, graft, outright embezzlement and other crimes against their city or state or both. Unions give almost 95% to Democrats now. They're such honest folks the feds watch them 24/7/365. FUNDING VANISHED is what this had to do with letting them down. Do not ever minimize the trauma of rape or the need to identify and catch the perpetrator---THAT'S what has to do with this thread.

Now, do I blame Dems for every problem? Of course not. As soon as Gretchen Whitmer is voted out and John James becomes our new U.S. senator, I'll be quite happy. That means two Republicans will win. The way Whitmer's been going, that should not be difficult to do. The way the Dems have been going, not at all.

"...During the civil war approx 620,000 white people died to free slaves."

"...you failed to recognize that about 260,000 of them died fighting to keep slavery."

to which I responded: Almost no one died in the Civil War fighting for or against slavery. The south was fighting for economic independence and the north was fighting to preserve the Union. And the individual soldiers were mostly conscripts on both sides, fighting to simply avoid jail. The slave owners had the money to buy their way out of service, they were fighting from their porches with martinis and only died if they forgot to evacuate when the battle moved into their front yard. The only folks fighting to free the slaves were the freed blacks volunteering for the north.

"What a load of hogwash!!! In March 1861, after secession but before the Civil War broke out, Alexander H. Stephens, the Confederate vice president..." died fighting to keep slavery?

I sincerely doubt he marched one step or fired one musket the entire war and I'll bet he died years later an old, comfortable fat man, though I'm still waiting for a clarification on that, as it was not actually specified in the reply... maybe you can help?

Also, how is that in any way moving goal posts? The goal posts were placed precisely at WHO DIED FIGHTING FOR SLAVERY at the beginning of the OP. Aside from the aforementioned freed slaves who volunteered for the north to free their fellows, who else that died fighting in the civil war (of which were mostly conscripts pressed into service and not rich slave owners) can objectively be demonstrated to have been specifically fighting for or against slavery as opposed to merely upholding their mandatory service obligations?

And do try using your words instead of cartoon... ;)

No it doesn’t. Not even a little bit. You’ve gone down a path that isn’t even remotely close to the OP
