Hey everybody hows it going? I was thinking earlier today that I basically just up and vanished from around here and didn't really even say anything which I feel may have been a bit rude seeing as how I am a Mod, well was/am, not actively right now though. (Stop cheering I hear you! lol) For those who didn't know, I'm in the military and I'm deployed overseas again right now without much time to log on the internet which is why I basically disappeared. Been over here for a few months now and have quite a few more to go. I've been in relatively constant contact with the other Staff members then I stopped and realized....hell I never even talked to our actual Members...Sorry about that But yeah that's whats going on and the reason why I haven't been responding to any of the PM's or followed up with any of the threads I had made before I left. I don't usually have much time to hop on the internet so if you are one of the Members who have sent me a PM in the past few months just know that I am not ignoring you, well not intentionally anyway, just been busy so I apologize. Hope everyone is doing well and still enjoying the forum! Feel free to shoot me a PM or talk to me here if you like. I may not be able to respond in any reasonable amount of time but I'll reply when I can. I have more free time some days than others. I'll be home at some point and be back as an active Mod/Member here again (Stop booing I hear that too! lol) I'm still trying to figure out who in the actual hell all those years ago thought it was a good idea to create a civilization in this blast furnace part of the world..... Well, I'll be damned! Had wondered what happened to you. So now you're military - what branch? - and deployed. Thank you for your service, Nightmare, and stay as safe as you can. You're one of my favorite mods and always appreciated your thoughtfulness....stay in touch as much as you can.
Thank you for your service to our country. It's one thing to talk the talk, it's another to actually back it up and through your service to our country you've more than backed it up and earned that citizenship you should carry with pride. Don't worry about the forum, we've got plenty of moderators and I'm sure the moderator team understands. We also understand and we'll try to be as civil as politics allows, praying for your safe return to rejoin the madness whenever you can. -AN.
Thanks everyone for your kind words. I'm doing alright and staying as safe as I can given the circumstances of course. It's obviously not exactly thrilling to be over here but hey it's what we do, I don't particularly mind. I do long for a nice recliner and a cold beer or glass of whiskey though, that would be great. In due time I suppose....In places like this you simply learn to appreciate the little things in life and learn to smile at even the tiniest bit of good fortune that may come your way no matter how small it may be. Such as going in the shower and realizing they finally have luke warm water instead of freezing lose your breath cold water. It wasn't comfortable hot water but it was sure better than freezing cold lol. And of course the next day the water is freezing cold again but hey at least it was sort of warm for one day. The local mutant insect population will even accompany you in the shower so you have friends lol Hope everyone is doing well!
Ah. I see you're enjoying the nice skyline and the trips to the dungeon when indirect fire's looming in the sunset
Thank you for your service Don't waste your time with us,. as far as you SAFELY can you should get out and see what is a very exotic and interesting part of the world, with possibly the richest history there can be anywhere. Far too many members of our military waste what is a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain unique knowledge and sometimes even more this way.
Ehh, yeah while I know there are some nice places in this part of the world...this is not one of them. If I go out and explore this part of the world I will likely find myself as a fashion model for the newest line of orange jumpsuits waiting for my "close up" via Youtube in front of a black flag.... I think I'll stay put lol
Hey everybody just checking back in to let everyone know I'm doing alright. Still overseas, going to be a bit before I return home but I'm doing just fine over here. The news does more than enough to cover whats going on over here, a bit too much info if you ask me....but yeah it's no big secret anymore. Some of the stuff they are broadcasting all over the news makes me cringe to be honest, we'll be sitting in the chow hall eating and see the news flash with all sorts of info. I'm like damn why are they showing this stuff to the world? I dunno, I think it's dangerous to show as much info as the media does to the world like that but thats just me. No need to give the enemy a huge heads up about stuff going on when you have friendly troops over here...I mean I understand transparency and the general public has a right to know what it's military is up to, but we have to keep in mind that while most Americans back home have CNN....our enemies have CNN too...just saying. Don't get to log on the internet as often as I'd like given the circumstances of course, but I get online when I can to communicate with people. Glad to see that the forum is still going strong and hopefully everyone is still enjoying being a part of this great place! I'll be home soon enough. Talk to ya'll soon!
