Libya is asking for the arms embargo to be lifted so that it can respond to the IS threat, the Kurds are fighting IS in Iraq and Syria, Egypt is doing her part too, in spite of lack of support from your country. Moderate Islam is not as passive and impotent as you believe.

If we, read as the west, have failed (of course so has the UK faiked by your terms) I would take failure every day compared to how Aqueda and other rIslamic fighters have fared against the might of the USA UK and Israel. The only thing saving the terrorists is their faith. That can never be defeated by an army for it lives inside us, well some of us. However for all practical purposes the west has won every military engagement with extremists I can think of. Maybe you know something I dont?

If there is a massive outcry from the leaders of Islam against rIslam, and if the people rally (when an atrocity is committed by rIslam) in the street at least as much as when the rMuslims partied in the street after 9/11 and like events there might be a bit of hope. If ISIS is eliminated to the last man another group calling itself ISIS 2 will spring up because their fight is based on of a perverted faith based on a perverted religion (rIslam) . Well, not to take sides with hezbolla, but that's not really a terrorist action. Hitting the enemy combatant in a disputed area is... warfare.

 

The reason Israel is still around is unwavering, virtually unlimited support from the USA. That's who you should be praying to. No support from USA = no Israel.

 

I would never join a terrorist organization, but there would be less of them to worry about if Israel would settle down.

And I realize there are some badass Israelis, but unless you are one of them you might want to be careful who you call out. I'm getting a bit long in the tooth these days but the reason I was in Israel 28 odd years ago was that my employer had arranged for us to train with Yamam for a few months. Let me tell you they are some blood-thirsty "kill'em all let god sort'em out" types for sure but they know their business.

 

What I dont understand (well I do understand see notes) is why anyone would choose to support a terrorist organization that INTENTIONALLY targets civilians over a sovereign state that accidentally causes non combatants to die, and choose a state that has a rule of law Israel and at least some accountability over a organization that has zero rules of law and zero accountability.

Notes. As promised the reason. Those that accept Hamas and many other terrorist organizations believe the propaganda they have read is more valid than the propaganda from Israel or the west. Its a matter of who one trusts and what an individual considers has Truth. This is why I am so keenly interested in philosophy ie what is truth, and biology particularly the neuro sciences, as in how our brains extrapolates and analyzes information, even the 'hard sciences of quantum physics, cosmology and astronomy. I think one day a large percentage of mans problems as in how we relate, issues of trust and differing ways we understand reality etc will be found to have orgins in biology and other sciences. The remaining issues will be found on the other side of the quantum, at the keeper of the celestial gate, ie God and spirituality.
