"Charlie" is "Viet Cong" in VietNamese. As you know this indicates soliders of VietNam war - Our Father and Grandfather.

U.S. forces would say "victor Charlie" on radio instead of VC. It was then shortened to just "Charlie".

you have to go with whatever someone views as derogatory, you may not intend any offense but if the other group is offended then accept it and not use the word...

and the Japanese during war 2 were referred to as Nips, a shortened version of Nippon, it seem logical and inoffensive but they aren't amused if you refer to them as Nips...

30 years ago, I knew a Vietnamese man whose brother was taken in a raid on his village by the Viet Cong and made to work with little or no food because their village was deemed to be American allies. This man suffered from many health ailments because of the starvation and died quite young.

During these Viet Cong raids, boys 12 years and older had to hide or be conscripted and possibly worked to death. Were these your fathers and grandfathers who did these things to young boys?

in WW2 europe they were called German collaborators and were lucky if they weren't executed...and no one cared or intervened not even the americans...the truth in history is dependent on which side of the conflict your on...

you represented the side of the aggressor, the losing side and the american collaborators paid the price...this is the punishment since wars began, betray your people supporting the invader and and you can expect to pay a price for that treason...

Communists were the aggressors as well. It all depends on how one sees it. Anti American haters will always repeat the same mantra you gave because it is ingrained in their brains by the 'lame-stream-media" they constantly use to supplant truth.

I heard that before. I agree with you that they don't have to died. Even our soliders died because of lack of food and water, mosquitoes, cold. War ask for paying even for the right side or wrong side!

So you believe the invader is right? You must to know the whole history not only the story you were told. I believe there were many protests while their sons have go to Vietnam. I believe Vietnamese don't want to kill US soliders because they were doing a stupid thing!

Vung Tau city is very beautiful, it looks nicer than most popular vacation spots that I know of. I would love to be on those beaches people watching. It looks like there might be good fishing too. I have always wanted to visit Asia, but its just so far away.

    http://www.google.com/search?q=vung...gS2_IHYDw&sqi=2&ved=0CDgQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=643

And Ho Chi Minh City is very impressive, I believe most Americans don't know how nice Asia is, and how advanced their technology is. It seems that today, Asian countries get new computer, tv, and phone technology before Americans do.

I don't want to take you away from the things you want to do, by bringing you into a conversation with me. But I just wanted to say a few things about politics.

If you are looking to study democracy, I don't think that America is the best place to study. Americas government has become very corrupt recently, and now large corporations and their CEO's control everything in my country. The American people have also changed recently, and they no longer have respect for the hungry children, and poor people of our country.

Countries like Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Finland, and Denmark, have true democracy. They also have very strong economies, and they have low levels of poverty and crime. And they also take care of nature, so their children will live in a safe environment.

I apologize if I am lecturing you. But I hope that in your quest to study politics, you never forget about the poor people in your country, that live in poverty. Here in America we have forgotten about our poor people, we only care about large corporations, and the rich people.

I believe the true and honorable purpose of government, is to make sure everyone in the country is healthy and safe. Technology is also most important to help do this. I just hope your country never stops having respect, for the poor people in your country, that live in poverty.

I learned recently that China is making (huge) efforts to manufacture technology, that will help the world fight global warming.
I personally dream of a world were countries like China, Germany, and Switzerland, will come together and create a world, were our future generations will have good health, no poverty, and also combat the destruction of nature.

I am glad to see that your country appears to be doing so well.

Please feel free to ask me (any) question you wish. It was very nice crossing paths with you, and I wish you good luck in school, and in your future plans.

    Chad.

That is nice of you. You should travel Vietnam, the place with beach is better than the others.
America, as you say is not what i image. I must have deep experiences with this. I looking for a model that work at my contry. I believe there must be a way for problems even the world faces.
As you know, Socialism now is not good for this stingy world more. Socialism with an ancient engine and passive but it care about the balance. Capitalism is oppsite. I did thing about the combination and still...

Northern Europe is good but China is not.
China, the most aggressive contry in the world, No Google, No Youtube, No Facebook( you can't find a Chinese use FB except they abroad). May be they now develop rapidly but not subtain. Did you heard about this: http://www.businessinsider.com/chinese-pollution-is-out-of-control-2012-11
Thank for your support, I will ask you soon, for sure.
