Baseless? Do you deny that you wish to use the organs of government to produce your desired social outcome?

Let's see, I am a defender of abolishing the marriage in any of their forms. But before to do this you need to abolish the state.

The marriage is a legal status that while exist the state, it requires to be recognized by it. So government needs to make legal the different kind of marriage, and homosexual marriage must be recognized like so valid like the heterosexual.

Neither is Christian, Hindu, Muslim or Jew but we don't prohibit marriages between different religious orientations. Nor are individuals from different ethnic or national backgrounds prohibited from marriage.

Discriminatory criteria cannot be used under the law as it violates the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment. That is what the court has determined in apply the 14th Amendment to the institution of marriage in the past and that is the identical criteria being applied today by the Court related to gender.

Half right. The issue is that marriage is a contract between consenting adults and the government cannot impose discrimination related to a contract between consenting adults nor does the government have any compelling interest to do so.

the contradiction is the combining of the terms 'homosexual marriage'

ie.... marriage is about procreation (lineage protection) and homosexual intercourse (the consumation of marriage is intercourse) dont make babies.

the terms of homosexual and marriage are a contradiction in itself

ie.... kind of queer to even put them together

    :date:

heck even the loving couples of that symbol are boy and girl

    no it aint.

telling a person that they are genetically gay is closer to a gender discrimination, then telling them they have equal rights to marriage

then why would a gay person want to get married?
the brainwashing is lying to someone that same sex intercourse is normal.

it is closer to frustration than normal

    for tax benefits?

you posted that 50% of marriages fail to divorce; why did you post that?

i suppose you could post, 'since monkeys too'

funny part is, them types fail to extinction............ kind of like YOU will too

i mean; if your parents were gay, perhaps you wouldnt be here and that would be better than seeing all them posts of lying coming from the bigots corner.

i rather like the idea that the selfish dont procreate

But the laws will have to change so that liars can be dealt with directly.

Perhaps the imans actually have a lesson to teach.................. 'drag em thru the streets'

"Marraige" represents a contract and should be addressed under contract law. That does not require the abolition of the State but instead removes any discriminatory treatment related to "marriage" as contract law is non-discriminatory in nature as seeks to protect the Rights of those involved in the contract. The government should be involved in protecting the Rights of the People as expressed in the Declaration of Independence but should NOT be involved in discriminatory social engineering of the People's personal lives.

No one is advocating the act of marrying children off, its just the religion groups of the past century that did such things. Drop it. You could save time if you didn't go on these rants invoking fallacies.

Of course not, its no longer popular. However the Bible advocates quite a few different types of marriage and relationships.

Yeah, they are. Do you think pedophiles are going to stop existing tomorrow? That this concerns are a worry?

Well, that is but one aspect of a contract based approach to RELATIONSHIPS that are opened from such an approach.

So it polygamy, beastiality, and a whole range of other issues that pop up from such a single minded approach. Especially when the only thing that has to be argued for it to not just be accepted, but given tax incentives and other support, is that it is a legal contract and acceptable because the adults involved (or their property) are all legally consented to by legal parties.

Homosexual marriage is, again, not just a legal issue.

Now, if you would turn down the notch of personal animosity and hyperbolic emotionalism, you will see that people raising concerns from such an approach should not simply be dismissed because you scream alot and say they should.

It just indicates both a lack of wisdom in refusing to honest cost benefits anaysis of policy change (and teh legal approach used to justify it), and an inability to control your emotions.

    Neither is good.

    No, it does not.

Once again, you tube is not the Bible, and you insist on being ignorant about it.

Is screaming and belittling others supposed to be a sign of sage like wisdom in atheism these days? Most people think its just angry, immature teenageism - one reason the Constitution has age limits on when people can hold office. The last thing we need in our leaders is a bunch of kids who think yelling is leadership or explanation.

The legal institution of marriage has nothing to do with the religious institution of marriage which is a social institution. I'm unaware of anyone that cares about the social institution of marriage which would exist regardless of any laws. I was commenting on the legal institution and not the religious institution.

Of note many religions have accepted same-sex marriage, polygamy, and incestious marriages throughout history. Even Hebrew teachings historically accepted polygamy according to the Bible. Since Christianity is founded upon the Hebrew teaching why are so many opposed to polygamy?

Unfrtunately, marriage, and partictularly government support of marriage, is not just a legal question. There are also religiouos, cultural, societal, and even moral questions about relationships that have to addressed and answered before we dive head first into providing legal sanction to moral questions.

For example, as a fetus is not born (not even considered alive by some) and the abortion process is a legal contract between two adults .... well, there you have it, the entire abortion debate has been solved.

In attempting to limit the discussion to a purely legal question, you miss out on a lot of the influences that drive decisions such as this. Homosexual marriage is not just a legal issue.

I simply refrain from basing my arguments on fallacies, slippery slopes being one of them.

I did miss your rants, I find it amusing you didn't address the issues of marrying women after raping them.

All you arguements are fallacies and ignorance. Go ahead and show me where Jesus states that we should rape women and marry them. I am well aware fo what happened in the ancient world, and well aware of the teachings of Jesus. You are unaware of period context and the teachings of Jesus.

Being an ignorant prick is just being an ignorant prick. When you spew BS just to be mean? Oh, I am sure that helps the case of homosexuality.

Like I said, I did sincerely miss your rants.

Nothing like a nice rant to avoid the issue.

I will ask you a question, dis Jesus ever condemn the acts specified in the video? Did Jesus ever say that marriage was between one man and one woman? Did Jesus ever dismiss homosexuality? Answer directly and without red herring.

I am still waiting for you to spell out the different kind of marriage you claim are in the Bible.

They are not there. I have read it. You, clearly have not.

Jesus, indeed the Bible, does spell out specific relationship roles in the NT, you however, can only watch you tube from a position of total ignorance - as usual.

    A few ACTUAL Bible quotes:

    "Colossians 3:19
And you husbands must love your wives and never treat them harshly."

    "1 Thessalonians 5:11
So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing."

    "Romans 12:17
Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable."

    "Matthew 19:4-6
"Haven't you read the Scriptures?" Jesus replied. "They record that from the beginning 'God made them male and female.' And he said, 'This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.' Since they are no longer two but one, let no one separate them, for God has joined them together."

Hmm ... that one just might have some theological considerations.

    "1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."

    My personal favorite.

    "I Peter 4:8
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins."

    "John 13:34
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other."

    "Romans 12:9,10
Don't just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other."

    "Genesis 2:18,24
And the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a companion who will help him. This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”

Oh look, that one might me appropriate to discuss YA THINK?

    "1 Peter 3:7
In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat her with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life. If you don't treat her as you should, your prayers will not be heard."

    "Psalm 127:3
Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him."

    "1 Corinthians 7:4-5
The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband also gives authority over his body to his wife. So do not deprive each other of sexual relations."

    "Hebrews 13:4
Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery."

    "Ephesians 5:28
In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man is actually loving himself when he loves his wife."

And yet, even after I have repeatedly explained the deuteronomic lesson of a rules based approach to God, you sit here and ask for a list of what should and should not be done - a list of rules - totally ignoring the Bible call to wisdom in petulant display of ignorance?

Would it be accurate to call these crude disagreements, so clearly arising from a lazy failure to actualy study something, ignorant savagery?

It is not our fault that you are so ignorant of something you have rejected without consideration or even knowledge of what it is.

Such lazy derision is the birth right of your anger.

so move the thread to someplace besides religion as a forum heading

this thread is a bait (troll) versus a topic that meets criteria.

    You just admitted it

    the thread aint about polygamy

heck i think everyone should own a liar or 2,3 4, or as many as a person can eat.

"homosexual marriage" is an oxymoron of terms and religious wingnuts aint who will approve or disapprove of the subject.

it will be won or lost by the best lawyers versus what is 'good'
