And for how long in the White House did he have Alzheimer’s? If you like having an Alzheimer’s President you must love having Trump.

Which is not presently relevant to the discussion at hand. The united state supreme court has spoken on the matter, and those who choose to exercise their constitutional rights do not have to balance out the actions of criminals intent on harming others. Nothing will serve to change that.

Motor vehicles are made safer only to the ones either operating the motor vehicle, or traveling within it. They are not made safer to the individuals who are outside of the motor vehicle who may be struck and/or killed if it is used improperly.

As of yet, no manufacturer of motor vehicles has produced a product that will not kill innocent bystanders if it is plowed into them.

Breaking power and ABS of cars has improved enormously for the benefits of drivers and pedestrians.

Not been paying attention have we. A lot of the improvement make accidents less likely which helps people in other cars. And new cameras and detection and automatic breaking have also made people outside the car safer.

All of which rely on and require the operator of the motor vehicle to exercise personal responsibility to avoid harming and/or killing members of the public, rather than substituting such with mechanical intervention.

Making it no different than requiring legal firearm owners to refrain from shooting into a crowd in a reckless manner to avoid harming and/or killing members of the public.

Thus firearms are just as safe as motor vehicles already, if not even safer.

Only if the individual operating the motor vehicle is actually paying attention to what they are doing, rather than operating the motor vehicle while in an impaired or otherwise distracted state.

So? In the older days someone stepping out in front of a car had a much greater chance of being hit than they have now. Braking distances have been halved. ABS allow drivers to steer and brake at the same time. So your post that I replied to was wrong; cars have been made safer to others

Can a motor vehicle still kill someone if it plows into them?

I suppose if you think in your case self-defense is a useless purpose I won't argue, but for me and mine, I'll take the gun for defense of self and others...

What has that got to do with your statement "Motor vehicles are made safer only to the ones either operating the vehicle or traveling within it"?

So is the 2,500,000 times a year where a firearm PREVENTS a crime from happening.
Even when oBozo in 2012 ordered the CDC to study defensive firearm use in the U.S., their figure was THREE million.
That is a LOT for the gun-grabbers to ignore.

I don't think you're looking at the whole picture of your proposal.
Another poster said what he did about having ANY type of vehicle he wants on his own property. Check.
You agreed that he could but once off his property, they should be regulated just as cars are. Check.
But I think you are assuming that those types of firearms will remain on the owners property. If so, then that wouldn't be the same as unlicensed vehicles.
Unlicensed vehicles can be transported to other places where those types of vehicles are allowed to be driven. Race tracks, car shows, prospective purchasers, sand drags, off-road areas, etc...
To get the parity that you desire, firearms would be entitled to the same accommodations. Hunting areas, both public and private. Camping and shooting areas where shooting is allowed. BLM land. Firearm ranges. Firearm stores. Repair shops. Friends property. Etc... Etc... Etc...
Are you good with that with what you propose?

Gun manufacturers constantly strive to make their products safer. Why do you believe they don’t?

It is a good point. But, I'll stick to where I started...with a little correction given the validity of what has been exposed as a weakness in my proposition.

    If you want a gun.....You:

    1. Have an age limitation.
    2. You have to pass a competency test before you get to drive one.
    3. Your licence is under regular requirement for renewal.
    4. You must register and have insurance.
    5. You will be subject to constant Cop random inspection, and breach accumulation, leading to forfeiture.

    These numbers are absurd.

There are no numbers in this political story, simple wishful sounds the basis for these kinds of numbers.

Like a guy bragging to the wife of how he scared away a hippie who might seduced their daughter, so it's a good thing he had plenty of firepower to keep their daughter safe and virginal!!! So he better go get some more and better weapons!

Quite literally everything. If a motor vehicle is still capable of killing individuals if it plows into them, it is not made safer to those that are on the outside of it, only those that are inside of it.

No matter what new and innovative safety features may be implemented, a motor vehicle will always remain capable of becoming a deadly weapon, no different than a firearm, if it is utilized improperly.

No one said that there will be zero deaths. You are running away from your claim

And yet the claim remains valid. Motor vehicles are only made safer to those that are on the inside, not on the outside. To everyone outside of a motor vehicle, it is a potentially deadly weapon if it is misused. If one decides to stop abiding by the rules of the road, they can do a great deal of harm to everyone around them without even trying. The truck attack in the city of Nice in the nation of France is evidence of that.

So you're saying that ABS and other improved braking systems has not reduced the number of pedestrians being struck by vehicles?

One noticed that the moment it turned out to have been a racist murder spree Black man our political Left dropped this story as if it had become radioactive and then conducted massive off topic fishing expeditions. Must be a coincidence.

No technological innovation has served to make motor vehicles safer to those that are unfortunate enough to be in their path during travel. Only those that are contained within the motor vehicle.

Making them go faster is somehow making them safer?
Even Tesla is planning a plaid mode to surpass their ludicrous mode, which they advertise freely as though it's a good thing. A ton or two of highly volatile lithium hurling down the public roads at 250MPH, what could possible go wrong with that safety feature?

    Link, please.
Not that I doubt what your saying. I just want some well vetted information that I can shove in the lib/prog face(s) the next time they blather how most mass shootings are committed by White people.
