If its from Harris County, I assume its from the jail downtown. Its not a prison where people are convicted and serving hard time, so no parole. You either get bailed out in some form or wait for court there and if found guilty to a legit prison. The only people serving their time there would be for short periods, a lot of times its time served once they finally get to court. They could be released on a PR bond and told to come back for their court date.

Shared guilt? Most urban areas are pure Democratic. There is no Republican to blame for Detroit, Baltimore, etc.

They're mostly run by white, middle-aged male Christians too. They're all run by Americans. Why should any of those characteristics be automatically deemed to causal factor though, leading to all people with those characteristics being blamed and condemned? If individual mayors, governors or presidents do something wrong, nobody needs to be blamed beyond the individuals directly involved. The generalisations and partisan attacks only build division, hatred and violence and it makes zero difference whether the division is based on race, religion, gender or political labels.

Read to me like a way for the mayor to just give up any responsibility for law enforcement.

"I asked them not to, what else do you want me to do?"

Really funny, although, in all seriousness, I dont think the comment is that bad. He's almost talking to them like misbehaving children.

We had a bad guy yesterday he had a car wreck and needed help. So he went to the first house he saw and the couple there called 911 and 911 had the audio. Husband's talking to 911 about the accident and in the background you hear gunshots about 4. Bad guy shot the wife killed her and took off. These fools could care less what the Mayor is talking about or even listen.

I covered that in my post. It’s not effective and no one thinks it will be.

Nobody had a problem with Trump until he put an R beside his name. Before that, he was always the guy people thought of when discussing success and riches. Then suddenly he became a lifelong con man lying racist xenophobe overnight. Excuse if I don't buy into your bullshit.

Will you do the honors personally?
Righties assume that released criminals will go right out, get guns, and start robbing people. Scary stuff.

Big government has its purposes, and should take charge when we're under attack, either at war or a pandemic like this one. It isn't love on my part, it's logic and reason.

No, he wasn't. To most people, he was the reality show host with a mean streak. To people more familiar with him from before The Apprentice, he was a sharp dressed flim flam man who couldn't even keep a casino above water, a man who built his reputation as a consummate cheater, countersuing subcontractors who were forced to take him to court in order to get him to pay a legally contracted amount to the point where they either went out of business or finally settled for pennies on the dollar. He made a habit of that.

If not for daddy's money he never would have amounted to much. After daddy was no longer around to bail him out when he got in over his head, he took out massive bank loans that he couldn't pay back. Why do you think that no reputable banks will do business with him?

He did not become a racist "overnight." He's always been one, learned it at his daddy's knee. The both of them were successfully sued back in the 70s for housing discrimination. That's just one example.

In my opinion, it isn't my bullshit that you should be wary of.

Democracy means majority rule. It is nothing more than mob violence given legitimate form.

Perhaps if greater steps were taken to ensure only citizens of the united states were allowed to have a say in particular matters, such would not actually be a problem. But such is ultimately not the case. Therefore the constitutional republic approach is the only acceptable course of action.

I'm originally from Fort Lee, NJ, and if youre from the city you'll know where that is.

When I lived in Fort Lee, Trump was treated like a god. He was always in the news regarding his charity and generous gift giving. The media, celebs and politicians craved his attention and sought him out when possible, and they all loved being photographed with him. Then he got even more popular when his TV was going strong. Face it, admit it, own up to it, back then everybody loved Trump.

Then he put an R after his name.

Right. That's why there was never any negative news about him. I personally didn't care about him before he reached out to middle America and wasn't afraid to call out problems we face as a nation. To me he was just another billionaire like the rest.

Do you even know why he was sued for discrimination? It wasn't because of him, it was because he owned the building that the managers who were hired by people other than Trump were discriminating. When you slip and fall in Walmart, you don't sue Sam Walton.

That is SOOO not what I experienced while living in New York City. I can't speak for Ft. Lee and its residents. I lived in Manhattan from 1993 to 2003, and The Donald was almost a comical figure. No one cared much about his political opinions back then. He was a known racist, not just for the housing discrimination, but that horrible full page NYT ad calling for the death of the "Central Park Five." Even after they were cleared via solid DNA evidence, he was still calling for them to be executed.

Where I lived, he was known as a cheater and a liar. His charitable acts were always grand gestures designed to keep him in the limelight, very self-serving. And there's good reason for the Trump Foundation being now defunct by court order.

As I've said before, you cannot make Donald J. Trump into a good guy. He never was and never will be.
