    Stop posting.

    (It's just a suggestion.)

I can see your dilemma. Can't imagine anyone has yet to give you a 'like' for any of your postings here since you've been so anti American from the git-go.

The dislikes are a bit weird, because they all come from people I've had on ignore more or less from the beginning. It is like being attacked by the dead. Why have an 'ignore' function is we have to suffer their hate and spite anyway? I can't see the point of them.

Both the like and the dislike buttons serve a valid purpose. They allow a poster to indicate his/her perception of a post without going into any great detail.

I hit the dislike on Awryly's post because I felt it was simply a case of a provacateur whining about the fact that people tend to disagree with that person's posts, posts that are more often than not simply flame bait.

If you, as you indicate, ignore certain posters, I am guessing it is posters with whom you disagree, you can also simply ignore their likes and dislikes.

I may have to rethink this. Where before i never disliked a post i simply ignore it or post to it. But sending a dislike is a bit of a bummer to the receiver isn't it. I may have to use this. It would show some posters that their anti-american baby killing posts are not appreciated by the majority of american posters.

But who cares about their perception of posts? I left the thing till it got over twenty at one time, but people might be wanting to get in touch about something. I quite enjoy the likes, because I'm interested in who might agree about what, but I know totally who will always disagree with me - racist zionists and extremist Republicans. Why should I have to bother with them? They hate everyone.

Very few, as it happens, but I quite like that. Your 'dislike' is just like something I can't read on a lavatory wall, whereas this one just leaves me puzzling about your intention!

When a post is to bad that you don't want to waste the time to type out why it is so horribly ill-informed and full of excrement, you just slap a "Dislike" on it. I don't see the problem. I have people dislike my posts all the time. They are entitled to dislike the things I say. Why are people getting their panties in a bunch about this.

Do those little green things matter that much?

I think Heretic may well be the only person here who's "disliked" my posts, though he does it to anyone with whom he disagrees.

Not that it bothers me. I tend to like a lot of posts, even from him, depending on how good or amusing I find them.

I only hit the Like this post and I have never used the Dislike this post. I think it seems more of a "monkey see monkey do thing", if you dislike someone's post they will be sure to find a post of yours to dislike..No one likes to stir up monkeys without a real good cause. I am not going to waste my time on dislikes. Ignoring them serves me better. So if you get a dislike from me it is merely because I hit the wrong thumb...lol.

Obviously the members of this forum!! If they didn't care they would keep a journal, or maybe write a blog no one would ever read. Instead they post at a forum where feedback is expected and seemingly desired. If it wasn't, why post here?

Why is this thread in humor? That is enough to earn you a dislike right there.

LOL, post of the month right there.

OP, notice you've never liked a single post. Maybe if you tried it, you'd like it!

(or dislike it... whatever, you know what I mean)

Because it is typical of the bully-boy mentality that built McCarthyism and destroyed American decency. What is the use of it except to silence dissent?

Feedback I'm for, as I say - ignorant drivel from the barely literate seems pointless, and there are people with whom one has so little in common that any communication turns into a slanging-match, so 'ignore' is the sensible option. If people want to ignore someone, why send them their spite-markers?

I think I've used dislike once or maybe twice. It's something I reserve for posts of a very negative nature, something I'd feel is inappropriate somehow.

I think not anymore with the like/dislike feature.

Another forum I'm on doesn't have the like/dislike, but has rep/neg rep.

It's all kind of meaningless. After a while, most know who's who in the zoo.

I've always found the terms for members as they post more here kind of funny. Some of our 'gurus' are anything but...LOL.
