Doesn't matter if that Useless Obama is failing... if it turns out to be Useless Romney vs Useless Obama......Obama will win..no matter what.. Obama has a standing army of socialist, ignorant african americans who would vote because his black, communist and lazy welfare users..all willing to back him up no matter what.... Many republicans don't even like Romney and wont back him up....the rest of the Americans, just simply don't care to vote or don't really give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about the nation.. What a pity..
Romney will open up drilling for oil so we become an oil producer instead of just an oil user. This alone gets my vote for Romney.
if Obama chose to throw the tree huggers under the bus, and do what is right for the nation, and embrace fossil fuels would he get your vote?
If I was advising Obama on being reelected, I would tell him to stay away from the microphones as much as possible and let Romney shoot himself in the foot. All of the ghosts are out of Obama's closet. His former pastor, his record, his stances and their changes depending on the whims of the populace, all out there. Romney? Not so much. He kind of whines when he speaks. His religion has not even been touched yet. Nah, I would tell the president to do nothing more than what he has been doing and less public speaking.
Honestly, I don't think the guy can pull himself away from the mic. It's as if he thinks he needs to speak about anything and everything instead of being the chief executive. Do you really think he would back away? How would Axelrod be able to explain less appearances of Obama and Michelle? Even with Clinton I would make it a point to stop when he spoke. Surely, if the POTUS was on TV then someting of importance must be happening. With Obama, I don't even bother listening any more because he's overexposed himself. I believe many feel that way. He's like the Allstate guy, you see him everywhere. I've often referred to Obama as the paid spokesmodel and there is some truth to that. He has not presented himself as the Chief Executive. He has an opponent this time who looks the part and has the experience of being a Chief Executive both of business, Olympics and a state. Like him or not Romney portrays himself as competent for the job. How do you combat that if you are Axelrod?
Probably the best advice Obama could get. Too bad he won't take it. As long as there are hired fainters in the audience, he'll continue to prefer public adoration over actual work. Speaking is all he knows how to do well.
To me it is glaringly obvious that President Obama will be the downfall of the entire Democratic Party. Not just because of what Obama did during his tenure, but because of how his actions and statements have defined his legacy and reputation to represent a decades long growing and un-addressed political problem within the Democratic Party. Like a red, swelling blister which finally erupts into a surface obvious suppurating boil revealing a tumor beneath, institutionalized racial discrimination is the fatal cancer afflicting the Democratic Party. Im not a surgeon, but it sure looks in-operable to me
Interesting article I ran across yesterday on this subject... check it out: Twenty Years Later, the New Democrats are Dead
A very interesting and prophetic article, Thanks. You could sum it up by saying: "Populist Revolutions may help a movement seize power, but they inherently make it impossible for the same movement to GOVERN".
that is interesting and Obama does feel more comfortable with radicals and far leftists. So, how do you package him to appear to be the man he isn't it? It was easy to do in 2008 because you simply called people racists if they even mentioned Obama's radical background. That is the challenge Axelrod faces; how do you make Obama appear to not be the man he has shown the past 3 years? Maybe you blame Bush and say Obama had to go radical to combat what Bush did. Maybe you get amnesia about Democrat house control for 2 years and blame the GOP in the house as the problem. But, is the statute of limitations in affect for using Bush? Does blaming the GOP for everything sound presidential?
I can't think of anything beyond playing the Social Issues Card that might enable Obama to pick up some votes from the center, but the economy is the central issue in this election, so Axelrod can't hang his hat on that strategy. I'm going to repeat my prediction that voter turnout is going to be one of the determining factors in this campaign. Winning the independent vote will be critical, but energizing your base and getting it to flock to the polls will be equally critical. This might be the only Hail Mary Axelrod has at his disposal, but I don't see the same energy in Obama's base that I saw in 2008. This year, the Right is more energized. One would hope that this experience will teach the American people to be elect qualified and competent chief executives in the future. One would also hope that the parties would also learn from this lesson and nominate more qualified and competent candidates.
It doesn't sound presidential, because it points towards incompetence and weakness - the people expect results, not excuses. Nevertheless, you've put your finger on an important point. Obama is no longer a shapeless vapor emitting substanceless bromides of "Hope" and "Change". Permit me to share something Fouad Ajami perceptively observed when Obama last ran for president: Of course, Obama had to be ambiguous - if he revealed his true Alinskyite nature, he didn't stand a prayer of winning the 2008 election. Instead, he ran as a blank slate upon which people could project themselves. It was a brilliant strategy then, but it won't work now.
This once, I agree with you. Less lying by b.o. would definitely help him. But TODAY, he couldn't help himself and engaged in a lengthy. whiny, lying, press conference where he again tried to blame all problems on "someone else." I doubt that "Snively Whiplash" Axelrod has much control over the megalomaniac obama.
Please leave me out of diatribes such as this, as they have nothing to do with me, the thread topic, or anything I said.
oh good grief you made a post in hear sayig that you would counsil Obama to be quiet. The poster agrees with you that it would be a prudent strategy and then goes on to show that Obama stuck his xxxx in it again with today's words. He just can't keep himself away from a mic I've enjoyed this thread so far because instead of bickering, posters are actually considering what could be done to turn around Obama's campaign
It would be good to hear Obama admit a mistake or two. People would respect him more if he showed a little humility. Instead, he tries to joke his way around it... like he did with the shovel-ready jobs statement. Which came out sounding like, "Haha, so I wasted a few billion dollars..." Humility is not his stong suit.
Another good observation. But, how would you package such a transformation? If done correctly I think some voters could be convinced and buy into it.
They can't.They { Obama and his Belligerent WH } are on a coliision course to Defeatsville.Especially since the strategy has been to keep up constant attacks on Romney and destroying any vestige of his character. That is the Campaign. To Smear Romney so the public cannot trust him. Making the public ask ... Do you want that guy in the White House. Do you honestly Trust Romney. So it's smear merchant time. What Democrats know best. Like Mitch McConnell just said ... It is getting " Tiresome " this constant looking for other's to blame for the Economy.
I'm afraid it's too late now. Obama should've re-evaluated how he comes across after the 'shellacking' of Nov '10. Instead, he carried on business as usual... even getting a little cockier than he was before. IMO, that was his chance to turn things around... like Clinton did... at midterm. Really don't think there's anything he can do at this late date... people are pretty fed up.
IMO, His excessive spending and arrogance about it is not his largest flaw. If I could ask President Obama ONE question: "Does a White Man have exactly the same civil rights as a Black Woman? If not, why not? When Candidate Obama threw Rev. Wright under the bus, he made a campaign social promise to the American People that dispite his past asscociations with radicals and racists, he would govern as a race-neutral, post-racial President. President Obama has NOT been Post-Racial, but rather the MOST-Racial. There are 26 separate racial preference provision in the "HEALTH CARE" bill alone. WHY? President Obama pulled a bait and switch LIE when it comes to RACE. President Obama needs to go, along with his legislation, policies, appointees, cronies, and Bills. In hindsight, we should have seen that we were electing a New Black Panther version of David Duke, but the Main Stream Media spun it otherwise. Lessons Learned.
and your replies clearly demonstrate that you would never vote for Obama. That's ok because I don't support his views either. But, what about those who made the effort to ride the wave in 08 and went out and voted, and are simply apathetic this time and won't go and vote. How could Axelrod get them re-engaged? he can't use hopey/change so how does he get the population which are going to sit it out this time to become Obama supporters?
I might vote for obama if; he opens up drilling to anyone who wants to drill. He gets rid of regulations getting in the way of drilling. He ok's the keystone pipeline to Canada. He stops giving money to loser Green technology and uses it to pay down the debt. He rolls back regulation that is getting in the way of building more coal fired power plants. He gets rid of Obamacare. He cuts capital gains taxes or at least keeps it below 15% He enacts a repatriation holiday which will allow anyone to bring their money into a US bank account from a foreign one tax free as long as it's to be used to invest in US companies employing US employees. He pulls the troops out of Afghanistan, but prepares to invade both Syria and Iran. He cuts spending to below 2008 levels and enacts legislation with a pay as you go system. WE don't spend any more money on anything, except war and natural disasters, unless it's cash on hand. Then maybe I'll vote for him.
