I wonder in Chicago if you're poor and uneducated what kind of training programs are available to help you up? University is obviously the wrong choice but give people a skill and they will get a job. A job with a future is hope and hope is a very powerful thing.

I meant fewer guns in the hands of criminals

I would support allowing honest citizens - even obama voters in the ghettos - to own guns for self protection

You can't arrest drug users who commit other crimes for those other crimes? Since when?

How many people are killed every day in America over illegal alcohol? Did violence from organized crime go up or go down in the immediate aftermath of prohibition ending before those groups moved on to hard drugs as their cash cow?

How many former illegal weed dealers in California and Colorado have gone to work at or opened their own legal dispensaries?

The smart criminals will parley their drug knowledge into the legal market, the dumb one's will try other avenues that they have no experience with and will get caught then go to prison.

So you are admitting you are lying when you claimed liberals on this forum have no answer?

Sure, and their enforcers will keep doing their illegal activity. Do you think the gangs in the sapranos and good fellas and casino were only into drugs, or that those movies/shows are complete fantasies? The street gangs are minor players in larger organized crimes who dabble in many different illegal activities. Not to mention being in bed with corrupt politicians.

Prohibition was a different situation since alcohol was an accepted part of society for thousands of years

Whereas drugs are a comparatively recent cultural phenomena

Maybe I will have to accept that the culture has changed

But I’m in no hurry to give in to that

Cannabis wasn't made illegal in the UK until 1971! I think it was the 30's in the USA but don't quote on that. Ultimately Cannabis should never have been made illegal in the first place.

Beyond drugs, most organized crime activities don't generate the kinds of profits that justify the level of violence that drugs do.

How can one with some fiscal responsibility want to legalize all drug use and want a national healthcare system for all citizens simultaneously ?

Are you operating under the delusion that taxpayers don't already pay for drug users' medical care?

I know Conservatives would prefer that children starve as punishment to their parents.

Where does the money come from in the black neighborhoods to pay for the pot sales that gangbangers are killing people over?

End welare and break up the cycle of dependency and drug abuse

A ridiculous proposition. Will not ever happen, nor should it, as very few people on welfare, relatively, meet your description.

Is that your opinion of obama voters?

That they would let their children stsrve rather than lower themselves by getting a get a job?
