Right, because there's no difference between what occurred in eastern europe and millions of undocumented people constantly soaking up federal and state funds while not assimilating and contributing to the gang violence problem. I mean, there's that.

No, and that is not the point.

But it does belie any reasonable-sounding argument trying to justify the Orban is doing if the actual reason for it is "disliking" Islam.

    Yep.

Have you noticed that it's just a bunch of histrionic ranting without any numbers or facts?

Sure, there’s always hinging your opinions on modern immigration issues with a completely dissimilar situation on another continent with no cultural similarities.
Sounds like no thinking whatsoever was done to drop a xenophobic reference.

I think the Huns were Turkish tribes. They know now that there was some kind of major volcanic eruption, or maybe two in 536 AD that darkened the skies in the northern hemisphere for over a decade.

It caused a massive famine everywhere, so the Huns began migrating into Europe, and pushing the Germans into the Roman Empire. It was probably this German migration that changed
the Papacy from its Latin/Greek roots into the Latin/Frank form that it is today.

Because they were at the crossroads between East and West, so it was always a battlefield - and continues to be so.

Some were probably Turks, but the thing about the Huns was they were not united into a mega-tribe like Mongols, but had many separate tribes. Their appearance was very close to one of the Mongols. Apparently they were strange looking people.

"Ancient descriptions of the Huns are uniform in stressing their strange appearance from a Roman perspective. These descriptions typically caricature the Huns as monsters. Jordanes stressed that the Huns were short of stature, had tanned skin and round and shapeless heads. Various writers mention that the Huns had small eyes and flat noses. The Roman writer Priscus gives the following eyewitness description of Attila: "Short of stature, with a broad chest and a large head; his eyes were small, his beard thin and sprinkled with grey; and he had a flat nose and tanned skin, showing evidence of his origin."

Not exactly the description of modern day Hungarians. As a matter the origin of Hungarians is not known, although many believe they might have migrated from Siberia. The other unexplainable thing about them is the language, which is related to Finnish, and Finland is nowhere near Hungary.

    Attila on the left.

We've already got the bit about how illegal immigration is costing us millions and causing unnecessary deaths, gang violence and a lack of immunization, and how a failure to assimilate is causing massive problems in major cities, but European something something. I'm pretty sure that covers it.

What's happening in Europe and the US is deliberate - thanks to the advocates of the New World Government (and Durandel knows who he is), who needs chaos to bring it about. The migrant problems were solved in the past by giving visas so people could work in the industrial nations for 2 years, send their money back home and build up their own nations economy. For that though you need a wall so you can register who comes in.

As Europe has proven, once people prosper and feel they have a future, they cease having kids. But that's not today's method where evil reigns.
So we instigate friction between ethnicities and faiths to get them to kill one another off, we sanction medications, drop bombs, steal their oil and food supply, etc..

And the more cruelty we impose on others, the more frightened we are of retribution, so we impose even more until it culminates in our own destruction - as it's doing.

Fight and strife is my name
    and chaos is my game.

I gear them all to kill and maim
and then covertly flip the blame
    to you.

So even though I am insane,
and only think of my own gain,

    there is no shame.

theres no evidence of any first order business outside of the Star Wars series. Secondly, you’re not gonna sell that when people become prosperous they no longer have kids.
That’s not true on any continent, I have no idea where that even came from.

People always migrate to better their lives, so let's act like the humane Christian nation we used to be and do something to help build up the economies of their home nations, instead of manipulating and instigating wars so we can keep them under our control.

As for Muslims, the Islamic nations will not take them back so they could propagate Islam, that is except Syria since Assad is secular and wants them back. When Moscow realized that because of Obama, the meetings with Kerry were achieving nothing, Putiin turned to Turkey and Iran to form deconfliction zones, where there would be peace and people could return. In order to establish trust, Chechnyans were sent by Kadyrov as a favor to Putin since they are Sunnis.

Now Syria's at peace and Putin and Assad had a meeting this week to figure out how to free the Turkish occupied areas, as well as to get rid of the US occupation forces from its oil and gas rich area. Last week, three tankers were spotted carrying stolen oil from Syria.

    DEMOCRACY IN ACTION
    [IMG]
Let's sing a song and loudly shout
and tell the world what it's about.
And how a man's hard work and toil,
could not be done without that oil.

So let's go now to fight them all,
and show them that we're brave and tall,
pretending that's it's for our need

when knowing it's for corporate greed. - Jeannette

They can do that when they leave the EU... the EU who they joined out of free wil. The EU who is paying more way to Hungary to solve their issues, then Hungary is paying in taxes. That's why they stay in the EU... free money.

Indeed. Cause the OP is about.. "preserve Western Civilization. Hungary, Poland and others have strong cultural memories of servitude under first the Ottoman Empire and then Soviet Russia." The Ottoman rule is in the same timeframe how things were for others when others were made to serve under the utterly brutal Christian empires.

It's so irrelevant.... why are you bringing this up?

It is so since Christianity totally supported slavery, and so what white Christians did to their slaves is directly related to their religion.
    https://www.christianitytoday.com/history/issues/issue-33/why-christians-supported-slavery.html

It's not as if you can explain fast numbers of fanatically devoted Christians back in the day behaving like totally deranged butchers of mankind.

A person doing that would be executed according to the sharia law as explained by the general broad accepted viewpoint of the scholars.

You're trying to push the idea that some fluke group of idiots, numbering less that 0,001% are the only ones who can explain the religion right, vs the others.... because of your own personal agenda. The KKK is also a fluke group of idiots claiming to uphold the Christian identity. According to your logic, they are right and black people can and should be lynched etc, and what the pope and them others around him has to say is irrelevant. As if.

FYI... Orban with all his viewpoints about Christianity. The pope told him, that he's wrong in a face to face meeting.. and he walked out without a handshake moment as a statement of how far he thinks Orban is off.

The headline of this thread is about Christianity, and you question what the Pope has to do with it?
    /facedesk

    He's not keen on that.

I already sourced that the bulk of the people are from Syria, Afghanistan and Irak.. and are refugees not migrants.

Sometimes immigrant groups take time to assimilate. When I left Chicago 43 years ago, there were still people who spoke Italian. Here in Nevada, we've had Hispanic immigrants coming since the mid- 80s. At the time, I had the same opinion as you. But having seen the second generation grow up, they have indeed assimilated; much quicker than the Italians did in Chicago.

I'm sure there are areas - southern California, for example - where this is not the case, but I don't see assimilation as the problem I once thought it was.

Also, what I've noticed here is that Mexican immigrants are very different than Central American immigrants. Mexican immigrants tend to cling to their culture while Central Americans come to become Americans first and foremost. I know several Central Americans who do/did not permit Spanish to be spoken in the house, while with Mexicans, it's just the opposite, no English is spoken in the house.

Either way, the children of these first generation immigrants are as American as me. They like football, baseball, hot dogs and apple pie. Ironically, you'll find plenty of Taco Bells south of our border.

Separation of Church and State. < This is what really makes America different and may I dare say, better, IMO.
