The Foundation of America's wealth did not come from cotton and tobacco.

It came from steel and oil and investing..

You do have a mostly valid point about stealing native land however.

 

BEFORE steel and oil, there was cotton and tobacco. The first slaves bought to colonial Virginia worked in the tobacco fields in the 1700s. Later, as the southern part of the country opened to White people , cotton became a big cash crop. African slaves created lots of cotton millionaires.

 

Small potatoes compared to industry in the north...

 

Without cotton and tobacco there would have been no industry in the North. The economic foundation wouldn't have been there. Think of it like a house. The agricultural wealth was the foundation of the house. The industrial wealth was the plumbing, sheetrock, lumber, electricity etc for the house.

 

Umm no sheet rock sorry , indoor plumbing was just getting started and electricity wasn't common til the 1920s.


And keep in mind less than half a million slaves ever even came to America.
388,000 to me more precise. While i agree 1 is too many and though important in a few industries well. In 2 ,they were never the backbone of the American economy.
What drove the economy of America in the 1800s? Western expansion!
American was a short term very small player in the slave market.

 

Ah now that's easy to answer. Joe Biden has been scewing up with Black voters every time he opens his mouth and the presidential conventions are about to kick off. So the leftist-allied media outlets were told in advance by the DNC to gin up any and all racial issues and imply that it's all Trump's fault and those of his RACIST supporters. So suddenly after three and a half years of no racial tension issues to speak of it's as if race-agitating Barack Obama never left office and cities are once again burning. Ta-dah!

In other words racial tensions inside the United States are always pushed by the political Left looking to levergage artificially generated tensions for political advantage.

 

This really is the kind of crazy narrative that seems to have entirely taken hold of the left. Think about this. The left love statistics. And yet, when you point out to them that so much of crime is actually committed by minorities, they whine about statistics. But, being the troopers they are, they will tell you that poverty, statistically, is the reason then for the crime, (even though there is vastly more poverty in non minority communities in the country). And when you point that out, they whine, and tell us that we have externalities that we cannot fathom, like "stresses", "insecurities" etc.

Ill tell you what. In this current environment, being able to label yourself any kind of protected hiring minority is an advantage that frankly cannot be overcome in this country. With the number of 8A or Minority set asides, legislated favoritism. it is an economic boon in this nation to be a minority. And yet, even given that, our leftists will tell you that it just isn't enough. That we must still expend our treasure to simply give money directly to some minorities because, well, they simply BELIEVE that there isn't any other way for these folks to "overcome" whatever it is they cannot.

If you ever needed a more pejorative. dismissive attitude to be demonstrated to you, the above hits it out of the park. The disdain, the feigned concern. all of it neatly packaged in one of the most divisive messages real racists have ever devised. This is the word of the Plantation. and it's masters. We should never ignore this. and the rest of us must actively fight against their determination to otherwise destroy or devolve the achievements or the potentials of the rest of America.

The rightwing keeps saying twice as many whites as blacks get shot by the police, so why is that? Less crime?

It just depends on what sort of existence one is will to sacrifice the required effort for. It's something that the political Left seems to have an inherent problem comprehending . . . that there actually AIN'T no such thing as a free lunch. Somebody always pays for it . . . one way or the other.
