I wouldn't say ECUSA has always been extreme, but certainly for the last 50 years. During Vietnam a lot of liberals entered their divinity schools to get out of Vietnam. They've lost half their membership since the '60s, having no Gospel to preach. They are a minority church with a majority complex, and are a tiny percentage of the growing and orthodox 70,000,000 global Anglican Communion. There are more Anglicans in church in Nigeria on a Sunday than in the US, Canada, and the UK combined.

Trust me, Christians do make you feel welcome. All you have to do, is grab a program as you enter, and find a seat and follow along with the locals as best you can. Stand when they stand, sing when they sing, pray when they pray. At the end of the service you get up, get greeted by all these friendly congregants, so happy you came and engage in their well intended chit chat for a few moments as they rush their 'guest book' and a pen your way.

I managed just fine in a Methodist church in a very small conservative town despite a very different ideology from the local congregation, even when they knew I was a heathen secular humanist atheist. Nobody cared. They wanted to save my soul, and bring me to Jesus and took my pagan greenbacks just fine at 'offering time'. Heck I was invited to the adult Sunday school, took communion, and read the weekly scriptures at the pulpit and had visits with each of the pastors

They knew my politics, saw my Obama lawn sign/ button, knew my doubts weren't going away and continued to make me feel welcome. For my part, I made my points succinctly on same sex marriage, abortion, and creationism in schools. I did not make an ass of myself, did not turn those adult sunday school classes into my personal ego trip.

It seems universal, this ever-present theist religious hope that they will change you, more than you will change them. Unless your politics gets disruptive, they just see an opportunity to 'win you over' and get you to take a turn washing the potluck dishes and accept your money.

He went to a site that is treasured for it's history by religious and secular Americans that value history.

Not to mention the fact that the police moved on a PEACEFUL protest with flash bangs and tear gas just to clear the way so Trump could have that photo op. It was well before curfew, the crowd was peaceful and they had every right to be there.

Most people try to win over others to their point of view, it's why this forum exists.

People here do not believe they are changing anyone's mind. If you have ever been a member of a political forum you damn well know better than to hope. Most people think they are involved in the political equivilant of a sports contest.

Absolutely maniacal hypocrisy by the Biggest Thug of the Land who does not go to church, does not likely ever read the Bible, does not likely pray, and engages in bearing False Whitness against his fellow citizens.

Did anyone notice that The Thug did not even bother to carry the Bible back to the WH himself?

Since Pense is the self styled self appointed religious guru of the WH I wonder why he was not part of the Apprentice TV drama that The Thug staged.

When police say "MOVE!" you got to move or endure the consequences. Unless you're nuts and love pain.

I would agree with you, if they were out after curfew. But as a peaceful protest, they had every right to assemble. Didn't they?

Had that right until they were commanded to move. They were allowed to go back and reassemble.

IMO, there are no peaceful protesters during a violent riot.

OK, it is different with Christianity, churches are of the few institutions that exists mainly for the benefit of it's non-members.

Go back through the times that he was governor and look at what laws he liked to make a big deal of signing and youbwill see.

I asked you to support your statement, I take it you can't.

We have separation of church and state, not separation of faith and state.

She's a total idiot. They would have burned that church to the ground and she's whining about Trump backing police actions that saved multiple businesses. What a dumb #$%&.

That's cute that you think that.
Ever look at the income/expense sheets on most churches? The money goes first to operational expenses and salaries
of church officials and main headquarters (The Vatican, The main pastor's life style of houses, jets and cars ...). Whats
left over goes to welfare programs.

My statement is that Trump performed an act of hypocrisy by staging the Bible act. He does not attend that Lutherine church. He is not a Lutherine. He does not rwgululary nor even occasionally go to church. He staged the Bible show for political purposes. the is a hypocritical act.

Go and proove that Trump is religious! You cannot because Trump is not religious. He never was he is not he most likely never will be religious. He is trying to use religion to further his political position.

Q: How many Orthodox priests does it take to change a light bulb?

A: "Change? What is this 'change' you speak of?"

Trump had that crowd cleared out for the sole purpose of staging a hypocritical act of Bible thumping.

He was showing support for a long-standing historical institution. It's a respect thing and as usual idiot liberals use it as an opportunity to bash and have a hysterical fit. I am honestly so sick of liberal types I could puke.
