They make the board lively though. You can go weeks on other boards with no replies, I'm convinced it's because most people see someone getting bashed and just go somewhere else, like here.

Most of the members at ANY board would have to do that, and this includes even the boards on computer problems. (Probably MORE with them)

I feel strengthened, though you'll all probably be deported by then. Maybe we can meet overseas and start a board in exile.

I have to admit to more than a small liking for the role of oppressed revolutionary, though victorious activist would be much better.

Can you be more specific in reference to: ".....this place has become really boring"

I remember some of the most spirited topics have had to do with, "Gun Control", Mid East events, "the holocaust®", The use of the Atomic Bomb on Japan, Race relations etc. & I suspect that if you were to introduce a thread on any of those topics, you would see things liven up.

At any rate, I hope you'll stay around no matter what your viewpoint.

The serious revolutionary Left has always been anti-bureaucratic, and, of course, anti-establishment. The tea party movement embraced both of these core revolutionary mainstays. Hence the determined efforts by the IRS and a murder of federal police/intelligence agencies to persecute and suppress the tea party movement. Sound familiar?

So this populist peaceful revolutionary movement without the leadership of an intellectual elite managed to power a crafty anti-establishment, anti-bureaucracy tycoon into the White House.

This morning Trump has redirected the x-ray laser of revolutionary populism at the federal police/intel arm of the entrenched bipartisan corrupt political class and its administrative state. As a revolutionary you should love all this. The serious Left should support the efforts of small government populists (the "power to the people" "leash the state" people).

Trump is an unusually tough aggressive, and often obnoxious businessman. He is not an committed ideologue. Does he really have the courage to crush the Deep State? The serious Left and all those who fear Big Government should, IMO, be *encouraging* Trump.

That's a "top down" way of looking at it. Were I free to speak my mind, I could improve the quality of this site's content myself, by making PF less attractive to retards.

And somehow, Trumplodytes find those whiners compelling enough to engage repeatedly.

With that in mind, one cannot help but wonder why Trumpsters continue to engage those who have proven themselves incapable of it.

Actually they make this board a comfort zone for dummies, as they discourage exposition of the connection between idiotic ideas and the character flaws of those who treasure such ideas; so the end result is stultification.

I've seen a couple of exceptions, boards where the rules are pretty strict and discussion is kept civil and informational because of it. One I'm a member of, and that is the Bad Astronomy forum. They require that people back up their claims and no personal attacks or other such nonsense are permitted. Then again, they also ban any discussion of religion or politics

If that be Truth then how come Al Gore and his Global Warming agenda
    never plays by those rules.
They went to great length to omit and disallow Peer Review that contradicted their
    ,Agenda claims.

Huh. I haven't seen that. I mean, I have seen Trump supporters celebrate that he won - but quite frankly I think the jabs from Trump supporters have been light in comparison to the jabs from Obama supporters after 08. I'm not attributing blame for the partisan divide widening to either side, but I think the partisanship really ratcheted up with the 08 election and has grown since. It's gotten so bad, people will hyper-partisanly talk about partisanship.

To ChrisL, I've been on PF less, but that's more because I'm swamped than anything to do with posters here. I think things usually get worse around election times on political forums - I remember 2012 getting kind of nasty, and many people disappear after the elections, but they eventually return to normal.
I've been annoyed by heightened partisanship, people acting more like devoted prosletyzers than people having a friendly discussion, like the more narrow-minded they are the more successful they'll be at converting voters.

I have to admit that I do like teasing them since they all were so sure that Hillary was going to win. :) It's kind of hilarious, you know?

    - - - Updated - - -

What do you need specified? Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Thanks! :) I didn't really say I was planning on leaving did I? I was just noting how boring it is here sometimes (not ALL the time but many times - could be the time of day I post too I suppose). I still have friends here that I like to keep in touch with though.

I don't really think that's why. There are plenty of boards with few rules and lots of activity.

Then Trump and Sessions must be highly progressive. They have vowed to crack down on recreational use of marijuana even though the voters in several states have passed measures to legalize it. Well over half of US citizens polled want it decriminalized. Sessions can't wait to ramp up the idiotic war on drugs.

Hey he's just making sure that we follow through on the precedents of gay marriage and abortion.

The half that want it decriminalized we call democrats.

Well, the right wing is always crowing about "state's rights." Until it's about something they disagree with and want to squash. Then, they bring out their never used bibles, and muster all their forces in order to keep other people under control and to restrict their behavior. States rights, sure... we can believe and trust the righties. Really...

Sometimes the Mods are too quick on the draw, imo. It's natural for people to get a bit wound up while talking politics, so it would be nice if they were a bit more flexible and relaxed.

This is the only forum I am a member of, at the moment. But I have a few other forums I visit when I want to see more of the "in your face" kinds of threads — they can be funny and fun, too, at times.

There seem to be two kinds of posters on this board: those who want ONLY some kind of "serious" debate, complete with sources cited. And, the others who enjoy hearing other members' opinions, frustrating as that can sometimes be.

It seems the OP is bored if not the center of attention. Just as an observation.
