You have no idea what is happening to the officers in question.

But don't let that little fact stand in the way of your narrative.

They still had to positively ID him, so he was taking a trip down town anyway. Plug his name into the on line white pages. The results including his full middle name returns 100+ results with 10 in Nevada alone. Nice try but no cigar.

I wouldn’t care if the guy was white. Cops did a bad job, but I’m also against murdering theme

The cops could have done a better job, but since we don’t know why this mistake happened all we can do is guess. I’m sure the whys and how’s will come out in the lawsuit. And $500k is not enough if you ask me.

All he had to do was while they were trying to ID him was get a friend or family member to fetch his driver's license and bring it to him. He could have been out in 10 minutes. If he exercised his right to remain silent, it could substantially increase his waiting time. I stand by my first post on this thread........ Maybe he didn't have a license at all.

Leftist media stopped reporting fugitives race because it’s systemic racism, and cops stopped reporting it. So, what’s your point? They got the wrong guy, happens once in a while.

The why is because most cops are drunk on power and never being held accountable. Sure 500k will hold the city accountable, and the cops will keep right on doing the same ****.

People move without notifying the DMV. Some don't want to be found.

Has nothing to do with the cops failure to simply look at the guys picture.

    We don’t know that.
But what I do know is that every time I hear of some fugitive and their description the race is always absent. They used to always include it just 10 years ago. Race is one of the easiest identifiers and eliminating it in law enforcement was stupid.

It happened in LA. There aren’t that many cities out there that are more woke. I’ve heard numerous claims that reporting the race of a criminal offender perpetuates systemic racism, so cops arresting someone with wrong race does not surprise me. You eliminate the basic identifier and you get silly errors like that. Well, at least now, when you read about the list of shootings in Chicago from last night, you don’t see “black” or “African American” in almost every paragraph. Progressives solved the problem right there, and you can’t deny them credit for it!

They screwed up. It happens in bureaucratic organizations. I don't think race had anything to do with it and I think your rage is exaggerated. This happened to one of my friend's brother. Except he was in jail for 2 weeks and he is a white guy that was mistaken for a black guy. Many times, cops are *******s. Most of the time lawyers are *******s. That's the way of the world. I'm much more upset with judges that let murders go free.

Well, then send a letter to the superintendent of LA and ask them why they hire idiots who didn’t look at the mug shot.

It's not plausible that the cops who arrested the guy made a "honest mistake" when they claimed they had the right white guy while it was a random black guy. Especially with all these stories out with police brutality, abuse of power, white thugs with badges at it again against black people. There is an entire chain of cops all part of that one, on this event. It stinks. We all know it. All there is, is this ill will to criticize cops for the way they keep on sabotaging their own authority.

Sounds like the cops made a mistake. Sounds like this young man has cause for a nice financial settlement.

So you're saying that he has a previous mug shot to compare to his face?
