I see your point OP and it has SOME validity to it, but come on. I'm not one for "special rights" for ANY group, but come on man, we came in, got a free thanksgiving dinner and then took all their shyt. I think some reservations for them is not giving too much.

Arrow heads that broke off in wounds ... hmmm pretty savage. How do you feel about mustard gas, napalm, radiation producing bombs? Those are much more “civilized “ aren’t they? WTF.

All civilized warfare has been far less deadly than tribal warfare.
In fact, the worst examples do not come close to what has occurred in tribal wars.

A kill is a kill. Add a kill to the body count. War is glorious hell.

Of course, most assuredly that could happen. Hungry is hungry. Just kill me first before you cook my parts and enjoy.

Tribal wars tended to be wars of attrition. Raids and ambushes and eventually surprise attacks on villages aimed at annihilating an enemy's social unit including all or most of the women and children.
Tribal war was, for the most part, a serious practical and very grim process of systematic ethnic cleansing.

Young warriors seeking the glory and prestige associated with killing armed enemies in battle was part of the process. The plains Indians enjoyed stealing all the horses and making monkeys out of the US Army for decades until after the Civil War when Grant tasked Sherman, Sheridan and Custer with finishing them off. They did the job, but as Custer discovered it was not easy.

The Comanche were the best, the Apache second best.

I don't see a compelling reason to do away with reservations if the Native Americans themselves are content with them. I don't see it as having anything to do with an "anti white male agenda." In fact, there is no such agenda outside of feverish alt-right fantasies and disruptive disinformation pushed by foreign trolls trying to tear this country apart.

It could be a thread by an impressionable soul who has been taken in by what the trolls are pushing.

They did some savage things but it’s not their whole culture. Whites did horrific things to natives but I’m sick of having Europeans always depicted as an evil oppressor. I’m not sure if getting rid of reservations will do anything. What we need to do is stop demonizing certain groups in history and then putting victim cultures on some kind of pedestal. No one can move forward with these narratives.

The Tonkawas may have shared your preference for Comanche.

"The Tonkawas practice cannibalism for food, not ritual. A Tonkawa band, together with settlers in Texas, Chased some Comanche horse thieves. Three Tonkawas killed a Comanche rear guard then road to a neighboring farm. Noah Smithwick was invited to their feast and remembered what happened:

"Having fleeced out the flash of the dead Comanche, they borrowed a big wash kettle ... into which they put the Comanche meat, together with a lot of corn and potatoes. ... When the stew was sufficiently cooked and cooled to allow of its being ladeled out with the hands, the whole tribe gathered round, dipping it up with their hands and eating it as greedily as hogs. Having gorged themselves on this delectable feast, they lay down and slept till night, when the entertainment was concluded with the scalp dance."

Apparently this poster has never read about how the Indians welcomed the Pilgrims at Plymouth plantation and taught them how to grow and cultivate corn??Indian reservations in the USA have NATION status.

The Indian tribes got along better with the settlers than with other tribes.

"Bil Gilbert reported a Cherokee chief in the 1700s saying to an English agent that the idea of making peace with another tribe was not attractive because the Cherokee must then immediately look for another tribe with whom they could engage in 'our beloved occupation'"

The Indians that helped the Pilgrims needed allies for their war with another tribe.

As they should be -- as hostile and as cruel to foreign invaders as possible.

Big mistake. They should have killed all hands and passengers, took what cargo they could use, and then burnt the ship.

I never said that, I said it takes two to tango. An imperial culture and a savage culture both committing atrocities. The mainstream in America is that the natives were all right and colonists evil.

You don't have to pretend that incredibly stupid things have any validity to them. Some things are just objectively stupid.

It's not working. Too many people are immune to the white guilt trip. Ya hear it, but you know those professors and talking heads are nuts, so it has no effect.
