I want to create a large private community that requires gun ownership for residency.

Of course there would be. When there are humans, there are criminals. That said, the above area would have much lower crime than the anti-gun city.

If it was a large enough city killings would be rampant. Name a large city where everyone (or most people) have a gun that isn't violent

In this community, every homeowner is background checked and licensed to carry a gun. No system is perfect, but crime would not be rampant.

Name a large city that is not controlled by (usually gun hating) Democrats.

Well all of Europe is not controlled by democrats for a start. Hey don't blame me if the GOP is weak and powerless where people actually live. LOL

Its an interesting theory but that's all it is.

Then it's their loss. It's all I need and have interest in building. The community in the OP is for someone rich to plan. I would consider buying in to it.

Too many hurricanes and too much in demand. You would have to live off of the ocean instead of the land. The Bolivar Peninsula has potential, but you still have to live off of the ocean. Lack of jobs would require that you live isolated instead of being able to commute to work to support your community and way of life. I'm not talking about leaving the country, only making a private gun friendly and gun educated community.

Hurricanes are definitely problematic all along the Gulf Coast.

In that case you would want to be inland and higher in elevation than the storm surge, and also make sure your roof is firmly attached to your frame.

I don't think of Texas as a hurricane zone, but I do remember Carla back in 1961.

10000 people died in a hurricane in Galveston in 1900. The Bolivar Peninsula was totally wiped out about 10 years ago. Only one house survived.

My dad was not born yet in 1900.

    Nor was my mom.

My grandparents were just children back then.

You're right. I've yet to see you post anything that is even remotely realistic.

I can live in peace, not worry about crime, my family will be safe when I’m working. You know. The kind of place anyone would want to raise a family.

Come on out here to Hendry County and buy some property, this is about as close as to what you are trying to do but already in place.

A lot of my neighbors and I have backyard ranges and our Sheriff is as pro-Second as anyone can possibly be, he encourages the citizens of Hendry to stop by the Sheriff's / Citizens gun range to take a $25 dollar class, so they can apply for and receive their carry license, our local Tax collector will process the application and push it up to the State for quick processing.

Well, so far no one in my immediate family was killed or injured due to crime, same with my children, and same with my grandchildren. None of us have lived in a gated community. However, you certainly have the right to do what you want to feel safe.
