The feds groused that the city refused to cooperate in the arrests, claiming that it only increases the amount of people arrested who pose no public safety threat.

"The fact is that a so-called sanctuary city does not only provide refuge to those who are here against immigration law, but also provides protections for criminal aliens who prey on the people in their own communities by committing crimes at all levels."

It is exponentially more difficult with illegal democrat policies protecting criminals, and endangering Americans. We'll all pretend that we are unaware of that, ok?

Yes sir and not helping a vet after he was hurt and ended up with a drug problem in servicing his repeat his country.

Sorry but I had known for myself too many vets who had ended up all screw up after their service in the military and who received little or no help from the government.

Of course they did not end up in Mexico as they was born here and the government had no excused to deport them.

Queen Elizabeth was very famous for not taking care of the sailors who was cripple for the remainder of their lives in defending her rule, allowing them to go to the streets to try to beg for enough food to survive, but we seems no better then she many centuries afterward.

However I am very glad that you can look down your nose at a man who had put his body on the line for the US and avoid feeling the shame of having a government treating him in such a manner.

It must be truly nice to be able to do so.

I'm good with it, they're scooping up a lot more than just picking up the criminals from the cops. Just curious, how is making a phone call while the guy is already in their custody "doing their job for them?"

    We have been here before.
The day ICE pays for the locals to keep them past the release time you would find a whole new attitude. That attitude would of course change when all the local jails are full and there was no place left to store them for ICE.
The Feds did this for a while and found it to expensive.

this always seemed weird to me, my us drivers license works in Mexico, theirs should work here in the same way, but we should not give them an American one - at the very least they should be very different and very temporary

maybe we let the feds take over the drivers license issuing, course republican are against that I think

How many of these people are former war veterans who served while elitist Republicans spent their days counting their money from war profits?

But look on the bright side. If they don't show up for the court hearing the judge can immediately issue an arrest warrant so the next time they have their ID checked and they find the outstanding warrant, which never goes away, they have committed a crime so ICE should be automatically informed and it's on the bus you go. And if they demand their day in court they have already shown they are a flight risk so they stay in jail, go to court and then it's on the bus.
