That was before she had a political track record, before she became a senator, when she was running for California Attorney General. In fact, Trump donated to many democrats before the brain-eating disease infected them. Most were in the northeast, rather than the land of fruits and nuts on the west coast, where the disease was already becoming common.

Now given the fact that Harris is black (and unfortunately we now now a black WNT) why would someone racist donate to her campaign?

Two reasons.
One, Trump was obviously never a racist.
Two, Harris represented herself to be a different person then; however we have since found her values to be entirely flexible to fit her political aspirations and advantage.

For example, in 2015 she sent a letter to US Senators including this statement:

“I strongly believe that serious and violent criminals—whether undocumented or not—should be held accountable for their crimes. But when local law enforcement officials are seen as de facto immigration agents, it erodes the trust between our peace officers and the communities we are sworn to serve,” Attorney General Harris stated in the letter. “Criminal justice policy should not be conflated with national immigration policy.”

In other words- she endorsed the separate enforcement of immigration law from local police duties. She did not say they should not cooperate, just that local police should not be immigration police. No problem.

However, in 2018, she compared the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) to the KKK. She also used this in her senatorial campaign- California Democratic senator Kamala Harris wants "a complete overhaul of ICE which her office says is different from wanting to abolish it. Harris was among the first prominent Democrats to come out against the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency,

It's called "Doublespeak".

I’m no real fan of Kamala, but there is little you can say about her that is not applicable to Trump.

 

Kamala is an excellent choice.

She locks down the Black vote. She locks down the suburban woman vote. She locks down the Indian-American vote She wasn't born privileged, when she went to college it wasn't some Ivy League school, it was a Black college. She worked her way up the ladder, she'll add real life knowledge about the legal system that is often missing in the upper echelons of either party. She's warm and charming, but the Right hates her because she fights back when they get uppity (yeah, that was a deliberate word choice). She's smart and works hard.

More to the point, she's got real political chops, and her presidential campaign taught her how to handle politics at the national level.

I expected her to be the nominee months ago, she's not just the obvious choice, she's the inevitable choice. She's an excellent fit for the exigencies of this time.

The South used to have an elaborate system for determining racial status. It was hideous. That may be where he was coming from.

 

Black voters are the most savvy and pragmatic voting block in the country. Unlike you, they can see the handwriting on the wall, and realise she's a potential win/win for them.

She's smart, and tough, most everyone loses in their first primary attempt. It's a learning experience, and not everyone has the chops to do it. Looks to me like she can.

But we will see. In a fair election we could run a dead cat against Trump and win.

Biden needed to pick a new,fresh face.Harris is now considered
Old hat.That is why Obama picked Biden.Because he was Old Hat.

Certainly haven't seen Trump jump the fence significantly on anything. A lot of his promises have not be kept- but not for lack of trying or shifting position.

Harris on the other hand promoted the "Bail fund" group "Minneapolis Freedom Fund", which since has posted bail for multiple alleged violent criminals, including an alleged murderer and a previously convicted rapist. That's a hell of a position for a person who was supposedly a law and order attorney general- "Free the Murderers?"
Harris has a moral compass that always points to the direction that will benefit her politically. Outside that, I don't think she gives a rat's ass about anything or anyone else. Of course, she's far from the only such politician- just more loyal to that than most; doesn't let anything else alter the course.
Fine choice for the democrats; when it comes time to dispose of Joe, Harris will go along with anything they can think of.

Would you really want anyone as president who didn't try to keep their promises and have stable, responsible values?
Doesn't hurt to remember that the democrats like nothing better than to insure he can't, thus the policy of magnetic polarity-- If he's for it, we're against it, if he's against it, we're for it.
