Ever been hit on by a guy you were not attracted to?

    How is that different?

Haha, I can assure you that I do not feel attraction to women. And I am not "hiding" anything. There is less stigma associated with lesbianism than male homosexuality.

Of course I am not going to say, "you are a gay person, therefore this disqualifies you from being my friend". I just think that given the choice between a normal woman and a gay woman, if everything else is equal, I would choose the straight one as my friend. It is just as easy to be friends with a straight person as with a gay one.

I get that. I've been hit on by ladies. They don't seem to like it when i tell them I'm gay.

Deviancy has been innacurately associated with 'immoral' or 'damaging' behavior, however there is no scientific basis for that in the term. The root word for deviancy or deviant is DEVIATE- as in 'to differ from normal.' Sexual deviancy is simply sexual behavior that is not what the majority of people do. So, technically speaking, homosexual sex is deviant because most people dont do it. Calling it deviant does not equate to calling it bad or immoral in any technical sense.
The negative connotation associated with those labeled as 'sexual deviants' originates from the old idea the nonconformity is bad and being different from other people means you're immoral. Its basically just more anti-individualism crap.

Hey I understand I made the same argument as did several other people. Then the op went off on a tangent of hypotheticals.

Some people are just logic proof.

Tolerance is not genetic, it is taught. Homosexuality was accepted in ancient Greece and Medieval Japan. At least until the Christians came.

But how do you know that homosexuality is not "programmed"? It could be a gene or just the way a brain gets wired in the womb. Nobody really knows.

Excuse me, she thinks it's a contagion that has to first be present to catch.

This is a excerpt from another thread.

It must first be on the table. So a society that extorts capitulation through threat of ostracism is a surefire way to end homosexuality.

I have a few gay friends in the Philippines that suffer from severe depression because their culture is simply hostile to homosexuals. Apparently that lack of hostility makes them um... "straight."
