I think it's more of a fashion thing do you think it's so hip and so edgy new and you're so clever but they're LARPing. At least the vampires grew up to be mostly productive

 

Except that it hasn't really been hip and edgy and new since about 1975.

I see that lot as an in-house version of those countries which are always a generation behind latest trends. Like Russian women still doing 1980's hair in the 21stC.

 

Well what can you do all the edgy things have been done there were hippies that goth kids, there were emos you have to cycle back to something.
