Yea, so you are suggesting that lawyers should be replaced by historians? What is point of the Constitution then and laws in general? Actually that is a whole point of the leftists, to replace rule of law system with communist style direct people governance. Not a lot can be done with such an enlightened brain.
Yes, and there are generations of poor white people who never owned a slave, never supported slavery, and have none of the mythical "white privilege".
Seems to me he's channeling just about every posting on this forum from Conservatives like myself who are well aware of the communist takeover agenda of the dems and their extreme push for power over the individual's rights and liberties by enacting a Marxist government-style climate. And the late great Rush Limbaugh as well as many of the great FOX TV hosts like Hannity and Levin in particular have been sounding the alarm bell as to our fight against these anti American commies.
So, should we call it "high-income folks' privilege?" Why aren't job training and college affordable for all citizens? This needs fixing... Full-time workers have had a 10% wage increase over four decades. That doesn't even take into account people no longer able to get full-time work and who scramble for even lower paying part-time jobs. Democrats used to stick up for workers, now no one does. Republicans under Trump gave 85% of the personal tax cuts to people making $400,000 a year, after Trump promised he wouldn't cut rates for rich people.
Not even close. Are you one of the white folks around here who regularly take black folks' inventory and are themselves incapable of looking the same way at white folks' behavior?
Sure. I think talking about the issue instead of playing the race card makes conversations and policy discussions more productive and less emotional. It just doesn't sell newspapers.
Democrats are communists? Could you could explain what a communist actually believes? I doubt it. Egads.
No. I'm one of those guys who says your race doesn't mater as much as your attitude. Holding on to the past in an effort to negotiate current issues is pandering at best and enabling at worst.
Or keep people tuned into comfort food of their choice on cable infotainment news. We have everyday folks of all races at each others' throats when we should be thinking about how to solve the income distribution problem. Yes, tax rates have been tipped in favor of rich folks, but no rate adjustment will solve the problem. p If we don't do something soon, average folks may lose faith in the system. Rich folks dancing to the bank today may find real socialists (who would grab rich folks' assets and collectivize production) may overthrow the free enterprise system.
Some White guys are in denial, but a cursory racial comparison of inherited wealth and the consequent increase in educational opportunities accounts for White guys' inherent, historical wielding of an inordinate level of power in business and politics in the U.S. I do believe that America's noble aspiration - "Equal Opportunity for All" - is advancing in regard to both race and gender. Enlarging the talent pool can only contribute to the betterment of the nation.
The income tax rates are absolutely progressive and tax rich folks more. I think the payroll taxes are one that could be discussed. We withhold the bulk of payroll taxes only up to $120,000 (or so). Letting that go on up and reducing the rate could be something to look at.
I disagree. Social Security is supposed to be a de facto paid in retirement program. The more that you put in, the more you get paid out. The reason that the paid in side is capped is because the benefits are capped. If they want to take off the capped paid in, they need to take off the capped paid out.
Blacks and Latinos have bad attitudes? If so, how did they get those attitudes? What are those attitudes? Why are schools better in higher-income white communities? How are poor kids--white, black, brown--supposed to overcome the education deficit with good attitudes? Are you sure it isn't in large part the news media and opponents focusing on the past? Who gives grievance masters like Al Sharpton a platform to confuse the issues? Sharpton shows up at almost every dispute we see on tv. Is he invited by those involved because he gets coverage, or is the reason we see a situation apparently flare up because he's there? Some of both? What about efforts to improve schools for poor kids of all races? Who pays attention? The news media cover "interesting" stories like people yelling (for and against just about anything), marching, demonstrating, etc? I guarantee you can get on tv. How? If you and ten of your friends will run buck naked... Years ago we had women supposedly gathering to burn their bras... https://time.com/2853184/feminism-has-a-bra-burning-myth-problem/ It's all about MSNBC, Fox, CNN et al making money.
Then you should be able to showcase how a 25 year old black male was negatively affected by Jim Crow.
Anybody can go to college if they want to. Nobody gave me a dime, and I put myself through undergrad in the STEM fields.
Your presumptions that generally white people are racist is just ridiculous. But I'll tell you what, so long as this narrative keeps being pushed, along with BLM, desire for segregation, affirmative action, minority business enterprise, and a host of other racist policies and agendas and you're going to make people racist.
