Isn't declaring a national emergency the same as declaring martial law?

Interesting. They just came up to a random wall and it stopped them? They didn’t come to a legal entry point and were stopped by border patrol agents?

Cool. It will be nice to see Trump openly cause a mass recession in America by doing something the majority of Americans oppose. It will guarantee he won’t be re-elected in 2020.

The caravan walked right up to the legal port of entry.

None of which defy something the Congress specifically ruled.

Well first of all you seem woefully ill informed. Trump has slated a great deal of money for the problem at legal entry ports. Billions is being spent on new detection technologies. Secondly, you seem to think just because you have a greater problem that the lesser problem should not be addressed. Using your mind set we should ignore drunk drivers because they only cause a small percentage of all accidents. That is a stupid concept, no one with a functioning brain buys that. In addition, the really bad actors are not getting visas. The ones who we want to keep out the most are not crossing at legal crossing points.

The idea that this is the least of our problems comes from total ignorance. Just a few days ago the biggest fentanyl bust ever happened at one of these open crossing areas. Another thing a thinking person might consider, if better policing at the legal border crossing enable law enforcement to capture more illegal drugs, would you think that the drug runners might start using other crossing options? Would an intelligent policy be to be proactive and set up for this situation.

Everyone is tired of the waste in government. We just got got rid of the most fiscally irresponsible president in history. He robbed over 700 billion dollars from Medicare to hide the costs of his disastrous health care program. He gave billions more to so called green energy companies. Nearly all of which went bankrupt or moved to China. He spent nearly a trillion dollars on shovel ready programs that turned out to not be shovel ready. You guys had no problems with any of that spending but now you have your panties in a wad because Trump wants to spend a tiny, tiny fraction of that amount of money. Your phony outrage is duly noted.

31% is not exactly a small fraction.

Most drugs being intercepted by U.S. Customs and ther Borderr Patrol are at the legal port of entery.

But if you followed the El Chapo trial El Chapo deposited thousands of tons of cocaine along the California coast lines using small boats and even submarines.

El Chap used smugglers as decoys as being expendable knowing when his smugglers were caught they drew the Border Patrol away from the border where there was no barriers.

The current national emergency at the border with the asylum seekers draws the Border Patrol from the field along the border who have to vet all of the asylum seekers at the port of entry.

It takes one USBPC agent to process just 12 asylum seekers per shift.

It takes on an average two hours to process and vet one asylum seeker.

That's one USBPC agent who was taken from the field to process the 12 asylum seekers.

I see you're still running away from the subject.

    Walls work. Obviously.

That's why Democrats said we needed them and built the ones we have now.

Oh, would you like it as an executive order like DACA then?

You mean like the Presidents latitude in securing the border which is also statute given by Congress?

Are we building a wall to block off the coast too? I like our Florida beaches just the way they are.

Walls clearly don’t work in all circumstances. A wall makes sense next to a city. It makes no sense along most of the border.

100% relevenat. National emergencies don’t mean the president gets to be a dictator and violate the will of Congress.

No one but the left tries to make that argument.

A wall makes sense on national borders. That's why we have the ones we already have.

You know, the one's Democrats already funded.
