Time to put the old donkey party down...for good! From it's beginning in 1828 until it's acceptance of the 1964 Civil Rights Legislation the Democratic party has been the party of slavery, KKK lynchings, Jim Crow laws, and repeated opposition to any and all legislation proposed to eliminate systemic racial discrimination. Since then the Democrats been making every effort to rebrand themselves as the "Party of Civil Rights" What a laugh!

Now, in this period of cancel culture, it's time to cancel the Democratic Party altogether for it's despicable past sins once and forever.

    https://flvoicenews.com/blaise-ingoglia-files-bill-to-cancel-democrat-party-for-past-slavery-stance/

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, R-Spring Hill, filed “The Ultimate Cancel Act” Tuesday to immediately de-certify any political party that previously advocated for slavery in their party platform.

“For years now, leftist activists have been trying to ‘cancel’ people and companies for things they have said or done in the past. This includes the removal of statues and memorials, and the renaming of buildings. Using this standard, it would be hypocritical not to cancel the Democrat Party itself for the same reason,” Ingoglia said.

The Democrat Party adopted pro-slavery positions into their platforms during the conventions of 1840, 1844, 1856, 1860, and 1864, according to a press release from Ingoglia.

it sounds nice in theory but IMO more than one party is needed. If one party has all the power, they will not try to make anything better and there will be no motivation without competition. Some good things happened on the left back before they all went bonkers.

LOL. I absolutely LOVE seeing the GOP and their members still acting like shits simply to appease their dying base. You would think that they would see the writing on the wall and appeal to the youth & Women in this Nation. You know, the majority.

God, our Country will be far better once the angry faction of the boomers have left.

Why is it that it's always the right wing that I see defending the Confederacy and slavery?

Good luck with getting the Dem party canceled. Let us know how it works out for you.

Absolutely NO good can come from the US only having one parry.

Actually what is driving a lot of this is one person and he is doing it for money

    Rupert Murdoch

We didn’t want the sod so we gave him to you

Fox “News” by constantly reinforcing tropes such as “wokism”, “cancel culture” “replacement theory” and “White victimhood”.

How does this make Rupert money? Well for a start it keeps the gullible, ooops sorry, the base loyal, and more importantly it keeps them focussed on everything BUT what is actually victimising them. The best example of that is the Ohio Train Derailment. While people are focussed on “immigrants are taking over” they are not noticing how safety regulations are being rolled back and costs are being cut for the greedy corporates

Our system is simply set up for two parties. If you "cancelled" the democratic party, there would still be two parties ultimately, perhaps with a brief domination of one party. Winner-take-all single district plurality voting ensures two parties. If you want many parties, you would need proportional representation, or perhaps ranked voting at a minimum. If you want one party, then keep attacking democracy I guess.

The democratic party of today is quite different than before the civil rights movement. Sure, I suppose they should have changed their name when they abandoned the ways of southern democrats, but they probably feared the chaotic transition that would entail.

I wonder if you don’t know what the southern strategy was or if you’re intentionally ignoring that it happened. Maybe there’s a third option?

Therein lies the issue. And you can only assume it would be brief.

I'd be all for that as long as we can end the GOP too and then start from scratch, and then bring in some of the 3rd parties just to add some differentiation to Congress.

I agree we need two parties of integrity representing their views of government. Right now neither the Democrats for Republicans is a party of integrity, they're both parties of grift.

But the main point I'm making is that we live in a time when every outraged and angry progressive in the world is trying to erase from history any individual or institution who has what they consider to have had objectable views. This is almost entirely an obsession of the progressives. who are crazy enough to look back hundreds of years to find something to outraged about. If we look back over our American history no organization has a worst record of evil then the Democratic Party, so let's shut them down. They deserve it.

I don't like the progressive wing of the Democrat Party, which now makes up over 90% of it, but the this post is correct. One party rule is no good.

That means nothing in this context. Progressives will search back decades to find a single time someone showed up a party in blackface and they'll dedicate their lives to driving that person out of the public realm altogether, cancel him from any public or historical memory. It's time to make Democratic bear the consequences of the rules they created.

Yeah, I suppose it might not be brief if they changed the rules to ensure continued dominance, as republicans seem to want to do already.

He’s quite the totalitarian. He keeps trying to legislatively force which pronouns can or can’t be used and tries to eliminate the Dem party in his state he’s going to kill his chances of getting into the WH. However, I suspect this legislation regarding eliminating the Dem party is just him doing a tit-for-tat thing. Basically he’s acting like a whiny c##t.

Democratic Sen. Elbert Guillory of Louisiana is someone who was brave enough to act on his principles not too many years ago to tell the truth about the party in which he grew up.

"Sen. Elbert Guillory announces move to Republican Party State Sen. Elbert Guillory announced he was switching to the Republican Party on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the @large event in Baton Rouge. Guillory, of Opelousas, becomes the first black state senator since Reconstruction."

You guys are also demanding that we use certain pronouns. Until you guys cease doing that, you have no room to talk.

Yeah, that's the Democrat version they want you to believe. Tell me, why do you assume that white southern voters switched from Democrat to Republican did so because of racism, you know switch to the party that had been anti-racist and pro-civil rights since it's founding in 1854?

    https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/402754-the-myth-of-nixons-southern-strategy/

The myth of Nixon’s ‘Southern Strategy’

The Democratic Party’s claim to be the party of the good guys, while the Republicans are the party of the bad guys, hinges on the tale of Richard Nixon’s so-called Southern Strategy. According to this narrative, advanced by progressive historians, Nixon orchestrated a party switch on civil rights by converting the racists in the Democratic Party — the infamous Dixiecrats — into Republicans. And now, according to a recent article in The New Republic, President Trump is the “true heir, the beneficiary of the policies the party has pursued for more than half a century.”

Yes, this story is in the textbooks and on the history channel and regularly repeated in the media, but is it true? First, no one has ever given a single example of an explicitly racist pitch by Nixon during his long career. One might expect that a racist appeal to the Deep South actually would have to be made, and to be understood as such. Yet, quite evidently none was.
