The DOJ can ask for help with open investigations. So they can start something today and ask the Ukrainian government for assistance.

What the treaty does NOT permit is for the US to ask the Ukrainians to start an investigation into American citizens.

 

If I were Mitch McConnell my first and second witnesses would be Hunter and then Joe Biden. If either one of them refused to testify, I would end the trial and take a vote.

 

Something to keep in mind is that the worst that will happen to Joe Biden out of all of this is that he doesn't get the nomination, and that's probably going to be the case, anyway.

It was quite clear from what he was writing that he had not read the treaty so I suggested that he should read it rather than remain ignorant - i.e. uninformed - of its contents.

It's grossly relevant to the proceedings at hand. It's the principal reason(and defense) of the Trump Administration. This man(as well as his son Hunter Biden) must absolutely testify to what they know of these matters.
