    I liked his show and his movies have been clever, but just imagine his comments in reverse. The question is why is it allowed? Why are openly racist comments perfectly acceptable? Because racism will WILL never go away as long as it’s accepted. And pssst, racism isn’t a one way street. Saying evil **** about white people is still racist. Power has diddly squat to do with it. Either it’s ok for everyone to be racist or not. So which is it? I say racism is just wrong, but that’s me.

    There is clearly a double standard. Poor judgement for him to say that but I still love his movies even though I respect him less...get out was awesome!

    Except he isn't making movies about black people, he's making standard horror movies and if you read the link he specifically says he wants to hire only blacks.

    Sure if it was a movie about MLK it makes sense to hire a black dude, for his movies it's just pure racism.

    And I didn’t change what he meant at all. I just shortened it. That doesn’t explain the statement. A black director can’t make a movies with a white lead? Are they not good enough or is it just flat out racist?

    How would you feel if a white director said the reverse? Racist or not?

    What you’re saying is it perfectly ok for black people to be racist.

    I don't see it as a big deal. Martin Scorsese pretty much only casts Italian-American men as leads. You cast people according to the stories you want to tell.

    The weird thing is that there were several white leads in Get Out; is he not going to cast white people in leading roles anymore?

    His upcoming Zombie Hitler movie could suffer...

    You changed the meaning of the statement by editorializing the title, which is against the Rules (in Current Events).

    Titles are only allowed to be shortened only when they don't fit.

    The 2 Statements are Materially Different.

    It’s perfectly normal to cast the right person for the right role. However saying you only make movies with only black people sounds pretty freakin racist.

    He’s not making movies about historical events where casting particular races make sense. It’s a horror movie. The question is how is NOT racism when a white director would never work again saying what he said?
