Actually it's really problematic trying to translate many of the German concepts into English. That's probably why the philosophy books do not make for easy flow reading.
There's not an easy word-for-word translation of many of the more complicated German words in the context they're used in. I mean they carry lots of meaning that would be lost in a simple translation, or lose the whole meaning of what the original writer was trying to convey.

We know there is nothing special about the DNA of humans.
98% similar to Gorillas, 91% similar to a mouse.

Some good ideas burried in there but, honestly it's a difficult not very pleasant read.
Almost like stream of consciousness, not really the most organized thought process or writing style.

Like many other long complicated books, one almost needs a good informed commentary to get anything out of it.

True. I know enough German to see similar words as in English. But Germans words can be extremely long. Also were you to try to speak German in Germany, better be prepared for Germans to ignore you when you do not correctly speak the language. Do not think you will get much help.

Such as yesterday. I was trying to talk to a Chinese woman that looked puzzled as we talked. I had trouble understanding her and ditto for her to me. She had removed a tupperware bowl half full of water i put in the microwave to heat up This landlord refuses to service this building with hot water. We heat it up in the microwave he supplied to the break room. She placed the bowl on the counter top and I asked if she took it out once it was fully heated. She had no idea what I was asking. She pointed at the bowl and commenced to say something. i finally figured it was finished and walked out.

You know why they ignore you? Because they all speak English, cause the languages have the same root and it's easy for Germans to learn English. No language translates better into English than German. Literally

    How do you know this?
Quite so. And the reasons are fascinating. Have you read The Strange Death of Europe?

I agree. Thats why there is extra nothing special about German DNA of all things. We are 91% mouse but you think that the miniscule fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent difference between Germans and others makes them special? Stupidiest idea of all time.

But that 2% makes all the difference. Gorillas don't write poetry or solve differential equations.

One has to wonder why this seems to be uniformly happening across the Western world.

Why is it all in Western European and English-speaking White countries?

What is it about the nature of this phenomena that is causing all these countries to be affected virtually simultaneously?

It makes them different. The way the science is trending the stupidest idea of all time may be the idea that humans are different from one another.

"I am worried that well-meaning people who deny the possibility of substantial biological differences among human populations are digging themselves into an indefensible position, one that will not survive the onslaught of science. I am also worried that whatever discoveries are made — and we truly have no idea yet what they will be — will be cited as “scientific proof” that racist prejudices and agendas have been correct all along, and that those well-meaning people will not understand the science well enough to push back against these claims."

Because German dna is 99.99% similar to African or Jewish DNA. We are all the same species. All human beings. Hitler thought of some people as drastically different genetically, but thats been totally disproven by genetics. Not to mention if you just took a look around the world.

Hitler thought Germans were athletically superior. The moment Jesse Owens embarrassed him or Joe Lewis knocked the **** out of that German dude nobody cares about anymore, if he had any brains at all he would of rethought his ideas right there.

But he didn't. Cause he was a methed up dumbass.

Now its your turn. Whats special about German DNA?

Hitler didn't claim super minor differences between germans and others. He claimed genetic superiority. So FAIL. Try again.

Certainly, his insight adds a valuable perspective. (But one which should be combined along with other perspectives in the proper framework)

If Hitler could only see things through the lens of ethnicity and conflict, Marx could only see things through the lens of economic oppression and class conflict.
But in this line of thinking, Adam Smith was really the first to start asking why some countries were more prosperous than others, so in some sense he's really the forebearer or peer (hate to use that comparison) of Marx and Hitler.

And my quote talks about "substantial biological differences" between human populations. You need to try again.

Perhaps it's fair to say any system can be turned to evil?

Whatever it takes to produce Bach, Beethoven and Brahms, Kant, Goethe, Schilling, Gauss, etc. They are way overrepresented in the production of geniuses in artistic and scientific endeavors.

I have been to Germany. YEs it was early in the 1960s. Then they had been consumed with restoring their country and feeding the people they barely had time to talk to Americans. But I discovered a fact. Due to their schools, they are among the best informed on this planet.

    Dna is not the issue.

    He was a dumbass.

Actually Germans doing business with troops at the military bases were more likely to speak English than others not doing business in English.

I was speaking of those not daily speaking English. Also I identified the era I was there.

So, tell me in English what Gemutlichkeit means.

Give you another tip. Were I to speak to the forum, part of it in German and part in English, who do you think would understand it?

Das Klima in Deutschland ist kalt. Yet not all the time.
