I wouldn’t say they deserved it but it is ironic that the same people who want corporations to police themselves, cheer deregulation and want the federal government to do only what is explicitly stated is in the constitution are the same ones screaming the federal government has done enough or done it fast enough ignoring that numerous federal agencies were on the ground rapidly after the incident

However, there is no question that if people vote against regulations protecting the environment, they have to live with the consequences. Same as when people decide to not wear masks and do not want to vaccinate have to live with the consequences when covid strikes.

The matter here is that people always think that someone else will have to suffer the consequences of their actions. If the pollution is in someone else's backyard, who cares, as long as they can make more bucks. Then, when the pollution hits their own backyard, they cry to the hated government for help. And they hate the government even more because the help isn't enough or too late. Privatize the gains, socialize the losses, that's the mantra of the GOP. Pointing this out is not wrong, even though she said it in the wrong way, sounding heartless.

 

What regulations did Biden not restore or enact that would have prevented this accident? Jesus H, the left blamed the GOP for stuff just a day or two after they took the just house, yet Biden & Co had two years to get things done and all they did was beat up on straight white men, spend money like Zelensky’s wife on a Paris shopping spree and opening up the border for all to come.
