Track the reason given for withholding the Congressionally appropriated $400 million in aid.
The first reason reported was that the White House told government officials to blame the hold-up on "inter-agency processes."
The second reason given was "the White House needs to analyze whether or not the money is necessary."
The third reason was "concern with corruption."
However, if you want the President of the Ukraine on your side, after the release of the transcript, that's probably not a good reason.
So...it became "because we didn't think Germany and France were contributing enough."
Yeah...the Ukrainian President can sort of buy into that one...as long as he doesn't have to infuriate Germany and France, unless Trump offered him a better deal that the EU.
The fact that it makes no sense whatsoever is only a minor problem.

And, I believe, DoJ announced their decision not to investigate Trump in conjunction with a statement that said that was their first knowledge of the call...i.e. someone asked them to investigate. Trump, apparently, contrary to his conversation with the Ukrainian President, never talked to his AG about an investigation of Joe Biden, in Ukraine. Maybe that was Rudy's job?

The usa is in no obligation to give aid to anybody and in the case of military aid that is the CiC decision.

Going by your standard you'd have impeached FDR for asking free military bases in the carribean for 50 years in exchange for lend lease.

Congress appropriated the funds and trump signed the bill. He’s got no power to undo congrrsssional spending.

The pressure had already been applied BEFORE the call by blocking the military aid.

"Donny" froze funds leading up to this meeting. Then, during the call, he talks about how much the US has done for the Ukraine, then talks about it hasn't been reciprocal, then asks them to investigate his political rival, and then talks about how he thinks that after this discussion Ukraine will be much better off economically. And this is probably the sanitized version, seeing as it isn't a real transcript.

You can play dumb if you want. I have no interest in doing so.

Guess what, watch the Dems shut their collective mouths on this one. The last thing they want is for Ukraine to prove Julian Assange was right and the Dems knew it all along. Better be glad Barr is giving the Dems some cover.

He had to say that to protect his country since Tramp said the day before that he would block the aid again.

Cocaine changed the political lanscape in America especially the Democratic party.

Do you know why Bill Clinton ran for President in 1992 ?

    Cocaine.

In early 1989 President G.H. Bush held a televised press conference when he declared war on cocaine in particular rock cocaine.

As President Bush held up a plastic bag of cocaine he said that earlier in the morning DEA agents had just bought the cocaine in a park across the street from the White House.

Bill and Hillary Clinton were watching this on television.

    Then Hillary said to Bill...
"Did you hear that Bill ? You can buy cocaine in a park just across the street from the White House !!!
Bill, you will be running for President in 1992."

They are, unfortunately, already letting Trump get away with circumventing the Constitutional when it comes to both taxes and spending. As damning as I see this "transcript" (and, again, this is the sanitized version of events), I think he'll probably still get away with it.

And that's the sanitized version. When even the Trumpist rewrite is damning, you have to wonder how bad the truth is.

Especially when that's a complete lie. Europe is not only giving aid but, collectively, they've given more aid to the Ukraine than we have.

We'll see. I'm not so optimistic about that part.

If anyone watched his "press conference" today, you must know that we're not far from the end of his Presidency. He's a sick person.

It’s just part of it. Let’s remember Rudy said he wanted to ask Ukraine to invesigate Biden to help trump win. Asking again with a new excuse doesn’t exactly look good!

Intel never touched the server they took the DNC's Crowdstrike word on it. Trump wants to know more about it.

Oh, to any rational observer it looks terrible. And, honestly, if the vote were completely anonymous, I think the Senate would convict. I think you'll find a handful of Rs stand up to Trump in the Senate, but probably not enough to make a difference. I hope that's not the case! I'm just not my typical optimistic self after seeing the authoritarian swing in the GOP.

Public corruption is illegal in the US and apparently in the Ukraine as well. I guess it doesn't bother you that "profiting off of Daddies name" required the US to donate 1 Billion dollars to the Ukraine.

I wouldn't say he "admitted to withholding funding to exert pressure." The word "admitted" implies a certain reluctance to discuss the matter. Rather, I would say Joe Biden BRAGGED about withholding funding to exert pressure.
