Do you agree we have rights that aren’t enumerated?

Sadly, there are no rights that aren’t agreed on by society.
We may imagine that we have all sorts of inalienable, God-given rights, but that’s not reality.
We must always be prepared to fight for our rights, if they mean that much to us.

They simply gave it back to the PEOPLE. Before it was FORCED on everyone by a few unelected officials.

"Back to the people" or back to the legislators (not the people) in each State? And it was non elected people who took away a protection given by non elected people.

See how farqed the USA is?

The legislators in the states ARE elected by the PEOPLE. Why can't you understand that?

Yes, they are elected...but they are not (adopting your words) 'the people.'

    Why can't you understand that?

There is no conspiracy. Massacres, natural disasters, wars, etc are events that people want to hear about. They are news that sell. Its as simple as that.

Portraying the press as the source of all evil and suggesting to ban it is the same authoritarian bull-crap we listened to from 2016-20. Enough already.

Besides, the topic here is potential banning of contraceptives and gay marriage.

If the are elected by the PEOPLE then that is better than unelected officials.

Alot of times issues are voted on individually by the PEOPLE. I understand that you are not from the US and don't really understand how the system works. Glad to help you understand.

My point is....(I thought it was obvious)......'your' system fails to work, as it is fundamentally structurally flawed with 'politics' overlayed and enshrined by and in an archaic Constitution.

It tosses up people like Trump, Biden, and those on Benches....all driven by political ideology. Hence...one day abortion is protected and the next it is only legal depending on what your zipcode is. What changed? Ideologues in power used their power to mobilise their OWN agendas. Proof positive is that more than 70% of the "people" in the USA are pro-choice, yet those same 70% have been made vulnerable to the whim of a minority view manifested by extreme legislators elected by that same minority in particular zipcodes.

It is absurd that an American woman (as opposed to a woman living in Texas, for example) may or may not legally have an abortion depending on which side of a federal border they live on.

That is what 'your' system produces.

    Insanity.

Humanity is not a State issue, whether we are discussing human issues like abortion or same sex marriage or inter racial marriage or contraception

Sometimes, the best people to see how screwed a system is are outsiders... you are 100% correct about this country...

Political zealots are trying to ruin this country, and they are succeeding in parts, but the snapback is going to be incredible someday...

Most people are not interested in going backwards....

You really do not understand our government. You see the PEOPLE deciding issues is called DEMOCRACY. Unelected officials dictating is called TOTALITARIANISM.

    You're welcome.

Baloney. Giving an issue back to the PEOPLE is not going backward. Your "outsider" has no idea.

I'm not a nominee for the SC, but I'll answer in the way they addressed the Roe issue even though it's based on a clear amendment establishing the right under the Constitution. I recognize it was an established precedence which Roe also was. The odds of it ever being overturned is very much lower than Roe, but look at where we are today.

Now, if you're asking me if it should be overturned my answer is absolutely not.

Culture dictates laws. Our laws have reflected those changes. In my lifetime I've seen many changes and at one time in my lifetime I never imagined those changes. Based on my personal experience I've learned to never say never.

Sadly, I agree. The Republicans had the next couple of elections sewn up. All they had to do was sit back and watch the votes roll in. Just like Trump couldn't control his mouth and lost the election, the right wing couldn't control their stupidity and will bring out the far left wing votes coming up.

100% agree. Politicians and the news have never seen a wedge issue that they didn't like.

If NRA members were running around shooting people, you'd have a point.

    They aren't, so you don't.

Having a partisan position does not mean that such a position isn't founded in a great deal of thought and reflection.

I'm a partisan of truth and logic. Guilty as charged.

Nah, what " he sees" is a Chinese communist view of the world. They believe in tyranny.

Just ****ing silly, dude... Pulling the Chinese communist card means you just folded...

I'm very curious what will happen when much of America starts actively ignoring the former Supreme Court decisions...

Yeah sure, because the fringe religious right has been clamoring for contraceptive bans. Oh wait, no they haven't. Just where do you see this new political push coming from?

Roe was passed by faulty legal reasoning. Almost NO ONE disputes this. Do you?
