He didn’t appoint the Palm Beach attorney that let Epstein off.

Far better than what the state was able to do. These crimes are state crimes. The DOJ found some way in which he could be charged federally and when the victims said they did not want to come forward they at least got some jail time, restitution to the victims, register as a sex offender. The risk to go to trial with his available funds and lawyers he could hire was too great.

And he went through a FULL vetting when he was confirmed. Tim Kane questioned him RIGOROUSLY over the matter, it was FULLY discussed. And he got bipartisan support. And to now say he has to resign as the Democrats use this for purely political reasons. He engaged in the same acts after his sentence was up, under the nose of the New York district attorney who had his sex offender status LOWERED. THAT is who we should be questioning. And of course all his Democrat buddies.

"Therefore, only Democrats could his only victims." Just the kind of thinking I would expect from a person that never read Marx but has a bumper sticker philosophy stuck to his *****. Oh! But that isn't what Churchill said about the socialist Mussolini. It was well known that both FDR and Churchill were admires of Mussolini. Churchill wrote so many loving letters to Mussolini that British special forces had to raid and destroy them before they became public.

So you look really dumb with your Churchill quote. You should read some WWII history.

And Churchill was not the only one!

Again Churchill wrote after meeting Mussolini:"“‘I could not help being charmed, like so many other people have been, by Signor Mussolini’s gentle and simple bearing and by his calm detached poise in spite of so many burdens and dangers. Secondly, anyone could see that he thought of nothing but the lasting good, as he understands it, of the Italian people, and that no lesser interest was of the slightest consequence to him."

You think Trump got rid of him because he was afraid of the Democrats using his corruption for political purposes? Trump got rid of him because there is a there there.

So he wasn't responsible for letting Epstein off? Guess everyone is wrong about who made the final decision. But glad to see you admit that Epstein got let off.

The State AG would appoint the State attorney. A State attorney does not work for the DOJ.

Yes he was confirmed by 52 Republicans and only eight Democrats. Just more Republicans confirming another corrupt Trump cabinet appointment.

What does the DOJ have to do with Epstein getting an incredably light sentence in Florida?

Nothing really since it was a State attorney that prosecuted the case. Acosta worked for the DOJ and was appointed by the President.

The FBI had prepared a 53-page sex crimes indictment for Epstein in 2007 that could have sent him to prison for life, according to the Herald. Instead, he cut a deal with Alexander Acosta, then the US attorney in Miami, which allowed him to serve just 13 months — not in federal or state prison, but in a private wing of a Palm Beach county jail.

He was granted work release to go to a “comfortable office” for 12 hours a day, six days a week, despite the fact that the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Department prohibited work release for sex offenders.

Epstein’s deal, called a “non-prosecution agreement,” granted immunity to “any potential co-conspirators,” meaning that if any of Epstein’s powerful friends were involved in his crimes, they would face no consequences. And Acosta agreed that the deal would be kept secret from the victims, preventing them from showing up in court to try to challenge it.

A lawsuit set for trial in Florida state court in December 2018 was expected to bring more details of Epstein’s crimes to light. Some of Epstein’s victims were slated to testify for the first time. But on December 4, Epstein reached a last-minute settlement in that suit just before jury selection was to begin, according to the Associated Press.

The DOJ (Acosta) didn’t prosecute Epstein, the State attorney did.

It was Acosta’s deal that got Epstein off.

Go search the public record of his confirmation hearings especially the questioning by Kane.
