any one notice a pattern with the post by our liberal forum members on this thread
they all start out condemning the violence then they all write a "but" then go on to excuse the violence

 

To my knowledge few if any conflicts between Leftists and Republicans have ever resulted in serious injuries. These people are mostly young adult men who are looking for an excuse to fight. In the same manner as drunken fans fight at sporting events. The police in Portland intervened and arrested a few of the most aggressive offenders. What I don't appreciate during these kinds of violent outbursts is for students/ antifa, etc to go on a rampage and destroy property like they did in Berkeley when Milo Yiannopoulos appeared on campus.

Nobody cares about antifa except a few thugs in Portand, and the right wing.

They are just a bunch of thugs. This isn't even a political issue.

They also have a bunch of nuts like patriot prayer, and the 3% ers marching through the streets with weapons. They know damn well they're baiting the antifa nuts. This has nothing to do with peaceful marches. They are all trying to make trouble. They are all thugs.

Hmm. I always thought it was funny when Republicans keep trying to relate racism to modern day Democrats because of the Dixiecrats. Who are now Republicans.

 

It is important to keep perspective. Violent clashes between Americans occur during unstable periods. Police used water hoses/ dogs on innocent Blacks peacefully demonstrating for human rights in the 1960's. Now we have a criminally behaved president whose very presence triggers intense dislike/ outrage. I've read comments from normally peace-loving people who become uncharacteristically aggressive when dealing with Trump supporters. To associate with Trump in Portland and elsewhere means consequences. Ngo lost his job for promoting hatred against Muslims. That's the cost of being overtly Republican today. Steven Mnuchin, secretary of the treasury, often gets hounded in public when he returns to his home in California. His wife has sort of apologized for being too close to Trump.

I see reports indicate that there were a "few dozen" right wing racists in comparison to "hundreds" of angry students/ young people. Those antifa kids don't have a police record for being thugs but can't control their outrage. When KKK is anywhere on the West Coast, immediate conflicts break out and the racists have to be rescued by the police and escorted out of town.
