I would have to see the polling that says Americans are typically right of center, they certainly are on some issues but the main one — healthcare, education, social programs, marriage equality, abortion, environmental issues — poll after poll shows slightly left to left.

I'll explain it.

Younger people didn't care for Biden I'll agree with that assignment. Yet Biden won the nomination. Meaning people who voted in primaries selected Biden. Meaning the majority of those participating in the election were primarily Biden fans.

Since Biden fans tend to be older it's reasonable to assume the people who selected Biden (the majority) are mostly older.

 

And there are STILL Americans stuck there.

 

I agree with half of this. The older folks voted for Biden in the primaries. The young folks, who definitely are liberal by a far larger margin than conservative, voted for Biden in the general election.

 

I would think the liberals would have voted which was Donald Trump.

Regressives voted for Biden.

 

It's funny - there was a young "progressive" talking head on National People's Radio a few years back who went out into the wilds of Flyover Country to talk to the mysterious rustics who dwell there on their farms and in their villages and he was genuinely astonished to find that there were people who actually had ideas and opinions that were alien to the GroupThink™ he had been since he was born.

On several occasions I've taken the drive 2 hours up I-95 to heckle them at their rallies in Washington and they could not handle the sarcastic abuse we were dishing out at all. They'd get angry which would just make us laugh harder which would piss them off even more, LOL. I've never had so much fun with my clothes on.

The poor things want so desperately to be taken seriously they come completely unglued when people mock them...

Biden was supposed to be the moderate democrat.

However the dems are essentially communists with different avatars (black female, gay white guy, spicy Latino, Karen, ice cream eating old man).

Biden is just an avatar and his handlers while not directly visible are visible through their priorities.

So older moderates were hoodwinked as is the style with democrats.

I like to think my enjoyment of their astonishment, speaks to an internal wish for these poor dim bulbs to have their eyes opened - but it's probably just schadenfreude

It seems to have matured right along with the baby boomers. They seem to become this party of the young rebellious youth right around the cultural revolution in the 60s. And I think the turning point for them was when Kennedy was elected.

He was a Maverick he was basically the Democrats version of Eisenhower. Keep putting into the study old former Democrat Party and it had a revolution of it's own.

This party seems to be listening to the hippies to the point where they grew up to be part of this party officials of this party.

But they seem to be losing that cultural stance. There is a possible revolution happening in the Republican Party. I'm not exactly sure it's hard to tell. But there seems to be a large part of it that's moving away from the religious right. That makes sense because more and more the country is moving away from religious dogma.

I would say beware of this because we might see the Republican Party become the party of the rebellious youth there was quite a bit of that and the Donald Trump presidency.
