I haven't failed to educate them. They failed to take advantage of numerous opportunities to educate themselves. College is far from out of reach for students who study -- we have these things called scholarships. We have work-study programs. Heck, if you serve in the Army for 2-3 years, you get college for free. Besides which, college is not the end all be all of education. Go to the library and read up on a subject. Get a job working in a field you like, even if you just make the coffee or whatever, you can get the opportunity to learn a trade from the inside.

And as far as being born with it -- not really. Most inheritances come when the child is at least 40. Up until Daddy turns 90 and kicks the bucket, people must stand on their own two feet. Your parents might be rich, but they don't give it all to you.

My problem with your attitude is that it's precisely the attitude problem that has consigned many many civilizations to the ash-heap of history. People want to take, not earn. And when the majority decides to be like you and demand that everyone hand them the benefits of hard work without them doing anything to earn it, the society collapses. Civilization cannot exist if the majority of people do very little to build up the civilization. It's what happened to Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Byzantines, etc. Eventually the weight of all the non-productive people's benefits are too great for the few productive people left. They stop producing, and bye-bye civilization.

I don't hate the poor, so don't even start with me. The poor however would be dead without a civilization to support them. You think health care is expensive now, try it when you have to barter for cattle. You think education is expensive now, wait until society collapses and half of the people are actually illiterate. Or when you can't get your car fixed because you can't find someone who knows how to fix it.

The shots they might call might be a lot fairer, I suspect.

I saw it. On which channel I don't know. Would have been CNN, most probably, since it's the only Yank channel I get other than the dam.nable Fox. Or perhaps RT made it up? Doesn't appear to have made it's way on to YouTube.

Are you too becoming obsessed with linkages?

Short term they would sound good. Lots of things sound good but don't work in practice.

    Yes, I like sources.

I have looked high and low for that comment, but cannot find anything about it.

So you approve of the "practice" that is not working now?

The claim is a bit suspect. As I said, I have looked everywhere -- including CNN -- and have been unable to come upon any such events.

I too looked everywhere. Maybe it was pulled for some reason.
