    Question for the Lefties here:

Do any of you really think America would be better off without a Conservative voice, that America would be all roses and rainbows if the Democrats totally rule all aspects of government?

No, not at all. The problem is there aren't many strong liberals in power right now. Democrats have become the party of Republican-lite. The only reason you think that democrats are super left is because you listen to such extreme right viewpoints.

Leftism=progressivism=war=poverty=equality=feminism and all the horrors of the modern westernized world.

Problem is...there is no actual conservative political party in amerika.

    Uh...no, I don't, because:

    1) I'm a leftist, NOT a Democrat.
    2) I don't want opposing viewpoints to get out of America.

I don't think it would be better. Cons are like the yin to our yang. And they need us as much as we need them.

And I call BS on that as there are no Conservatives in the Democrat party. Not to mention your desire to force us into a permanent minority effectively makes it one party rule.

That's a question you need to be asking your fellow Republicans,

Which party is demanding such ideological purity that even Orrin Hatch is to "liberal?"
Which party is trying to suppress the vote?

The Democrats have repeatedly surpressed the military vote. Not to mention Democrats are kicking their so-called "Conservatives" to the curb.

Keeping you cheaters from accepting the votes of illegal aliens, black convicted felons, and dead people is not "suppressing the vote"

Liberals need conservatives, just as conservatives need liberals. The diametric relationship is what keeps tyranny from being an almost impenetrable constant, as opposed to gradual progression towards such, which can be remedied without revolution.

What kills me is that liberals bash conservatives for ideas and policies that hurt the average joe. Conservatives however bash liberals as traitors who are out to destroy America just because of a philosophic as well as political differences. See the difference? I suspect conservatives giggle with glee at the thought of a 1 party rule

The Democrats, by voter makeup, should be the centrist party. ~40% of America is conservative, and since almost the entire Republican party is conservative, that leaves the ~20% liberal and ~40% moderate to make up the Democrats. The base of the Democrats, by this knowledge, should be half liberal and half moderate, with independents being moderate. Considering where the country's real ideological center is, the Democrats are the ones furthest from it.

You should stop talking about Democrats, since you clearly don't know much about them.

eh........I would say that there are a large number of Republican moderates........after all, look who we nominated for pres........Mr. Wishy Washy Moderate himself. Even the Tea Party which is arguably the conservative conscious of the Republican party consists of a large number of what used to be called Reagan Democrats.

Why are you assuming that independents are moderates? They could just as well be extremists.

Those two are doing alright. I'm not defending their policies, they do have job-killing policies, but they still benefit what you might call the "old world" edge. There basically are not going to be any startups costs for businesses in VT and MA. Population in both states has been stagnant, you're looking at a situation like some northern European countries. They are benefiting, not because of policies, but because of "old world" infrastructure and stagnant populations.
